Still lacking that killer instinct but our energy and purpose was as high as I can remember in recent years. What a fun watch that was.

We've played better in these 5 league games than in our first five last season.
Agree. That's football. Sometimes you just don't get the rub of the green or finish the chances.

As Howe said when they beat us however, consistency of performance is a better indicator of long term success than isolated wins.

It feels god damn good to know you impatient short sighted fools are eating crow with this result. Every Celtic supporter said we need to be patient as it will be bumpy.

For all the haters - you need to remember that experience is sometimes more important than the league you came from.

Poetic justice beating a team that is known for defensive tactics today.
Hmm very strange post. Not like we beat a top 6 side.

It's a strange thing that it's now that there is talk of ange being under pressure, even managerial change when we are playing some of our best football under him.

Our intensity was rammed up several notches - and wouldnt you know we looked levels above.

A big win for everybody today and a performance like early last season.

That's football sadly. If you don't get results, people make up their own narrative.

For me, there's been that sense of nervousness this season. We had poor results throughout the 2nd half of last season and it continued in the 1st 4 games this season.

I've not been critical of Ange and certainly don't want him out. Just had the feeling of unease.

Gotta love when the I told you so brigade post (we shall still see for rest of this season how Ange does).

Did we see some tweaks tactically today?

To me it looked like both Porro and Udogie were playing and staying much wider and making more overlapping runs and not over crowding the middle which allowed Kulu and Madders to really effect the game more, same with Sonny he seemed to drift more inside when we had the ball and Udogie was wide.

We also didn't seem to commit as many far forward I thought but our pressing was even more together than it has been.

Maybe it was the way Brentford played but I definitely feel like the full backs weren't as heavily involved inside than they have been and it gave us more space.

I noticed changes too.

Fullbacks overlapping more, Maddison drifting left with Sonny central waiting for chances to shoot, people shooting much more, much quicker pace,

We weren’t perfect but we looked really really effective going forward.

@Trix it looked different today, maybe a tactical tweak, but I don't really see this stuff on the pitch much, thoughts mate?

Think we've started doing that when Kulusevski plays central with Maddison. They come inside but not as often and are playing outside a bit more. Like they're initially coming infield up to the middle of the pitch but in the final third making runs on the outside. They haven't been getting into the attacking midfield areas as much. It makes sense too, rather those attacking players there and put wide players are best inside.
