Eddie Howe, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino and Carsley are among the front-runners to replace Southgate.
Carsley won the euros (under 21s) and England played some really good stuff. Saying that though, Potter is probably the cheapest and easiest option for the FA I imagine.

I'd go for Howe, one I think it'd fuck up Newcastle and he'd also try and play good football.

No chance Ange (or Levy) considers it though.

Interview post match on SSN just now. Ange asked about being linked to the England job.. Ange shut it down right away, and said his only interest is to bring success to Tottenham.. and until he's done that, his focus won't be elsewhere.

I'm paraphrasing, but that was the jist of it.

“Like I said, nothing's really changed, I'm comfortable.

We've got a strategy in place about what we want to do. I'm really happy with the two lads we've brought in, both obviously very talented but more importantly really ambitious. They're not here to ease their way in. They want to play and I think that's great.

They've brought a good energy to the group and no doubt there will be a couple more additions but I'm comfortable with where we're at.”

He’s always so on point with his messaging

During the great manager search when most of us were fighting over Nagelsmann and Poch, before Ange was mentioned in the media, there were, on this forum, a couple of members suggesting Ange would be a great fit. I don’t recall who so I apologise for being unable to credit. One of those posters described Ange as a mix of Redknapp and Poch, and thus far, that appears to be a great description.

I appreciate what both Redknapp and Poch did for Spurs. I felt it was right for Redknapp to leave when he did, and I was saddened when Poch was sacked.

Ange has the potential to get to peak Poch levels with us, in terms of the feel good factor. Everything suggests that these great young talents are going to get a fair chance here.
I am just conscious of the Redknapp side of Ange, is he a great charmer. Will he make promises about trusting youth and not stick to them etc.

I do wonder if push comes to shove, with talents like Moore and Lankshear, will the club back Ange over the risk of losing the kids.

Ange has had an unconventional managerial career and finally made it to the top of the game in the premier league. 5 years ago he probably thought that would never happen. No way he throws that away to go to England.

I think the domination of the Euros by Williams and Lamal will not have gone unnoticed by the Elite coaches.

Pretty sure this was me although I would’ve said he’s a mix of Pep & Harry Redknapp with an Aussie accent. Pep in terms of similar tactics, Harry Redknapp in terms of honest straight talking likeable football man. He’s also got the big cuddly bear vibes of Martin Jol.

I don’t think he’s like Poch at all really but he’s certainly a really great mix and a fantastic positive communicator which is refreshing.

Not even worth posting no chance of this. Bs.

Yeah, it's obviously a completely non-starter.

A.) I don't believe there are any compelling reasons for the FA to appoint him. He isn't English, nor is he particularly well-established in the English football scene like Pochettino or Klopp. He's only managed in the PL for one season. Additionally, he doesn't have a significant track record in major European leagues like Sven or Capello.

B.) Why would he leave Spurs, his big opportunity in the world's top league, after just one season to take the England job? He's not young and he may not get another job in the Premier League after this one.

Not that I expected him to run out the door for the England job, if the FA do actually want him, but its still a breath of fresh air having a manager like him who just shuts it down.

Will never forget when Redknapp was linked and just spent the whole time flirting with the job whilst still with us.

The "link" to the FA-job is a story in the media because we are Spurs and they love to cause trouble for us... he might be on the list... but they just love to blow it all out of proportion because it's us ... don't they ?
