I think for most people, the glory comes from winning football matches and trophies.

If you are mostly worried about just entertaining football, why only support Spurs? why not be a neutral and watch the team who play the most entertaining football for you? It seems this would be most logical thing to do especially with your last sentence.
I do watch some games as a neutral, and I'm quite picky about which games I watch. United were a good team to watch last season, not because they were good but because they went out to beat teams and the other teams did the same. It made for more entertaining watching. And not having a horse in the race actually made it more relaxing.

I'll fire the same question back at you, if you only care about winning, why support Spurs?

But I suppose in both cases our answers are the same. Sadly we can't change our team, it'd be like chopping off an arm at this point. Even if at times under Conte or José the arm had gone septic.

I care about Spurs winning rather than winning per se and I don't support Tottenham for entertainment purposes. I personally would prioritise the team winning over what style of football they play or how entertaining the football is.

I think usually there needs to be a balance between playing entertaining football and winning trophies.

If you're a club consistently winning all the big trophies, you might get away with playing less exciting football. However, that FA Cup or league title will soon be forgotten if the football is dull to watch and more trophies don't follow in quick succession.

Similarly, entertaining football is exciting at the beginning of the journey, but frustration quickly sets in if trophies don’t follow.

But anyway, Ange has never given the impression that it's one or the other. He wants both.

You make a fair point but my issue is to win big trophies and play entertaining football, you generally need to have the best players at their prime. I don't think we are willing to do what is necessary to have that.

There is nothing wrong with either idea imo. I mean everyone enjoys things differently.

Either way you look at it (entertainment and winning) we haven't done enough of either over the past few years.

Obviously winning has an important part to play, I do care about winning, it's just how we go about it is more important to me.

At Spurs we should aim for both. We don't win much anyway so lets keep to our roots and try to win playing the right way if nothing else.

Get Ange what he needs to play modern push and run and we will win something.

nah mate. its nie on time we win some trophies, its what the club is about.

not winning any made our greatest player leave and go off in search of it and if we're not careful the likes of Romero could follow.

Isn't winning the whole point of the game? The main objective of the game being to beat your opponent?
Nowadays it’s ALL about winning. I much prefer the older version of football. Entertaining and exciting. I remember Spurs being that when I started going to games. Now I’m a bit “can’t be bothered to go and watch a game “ that and the price!”
I’m living on an OAPs income and don’t have much spare cash after bills.
It is my own fault as I didn’t save for my old age.

Worked all his life to get a job in a top league with a top club. Ain't no way he gives that up for an international job with a country he has no affiliation for.

I saw a clip of Merson saying they should give it to Lampard and I couldn’t agree more. Better yet make Merson his assistant.

If he wasn't Spurs manager I would want him to be England manager. Plays good football and has previous international management experience.
