Wasn’t sure the best place for this, but this seems appropriate.

Interesting vid, thanks for sharing! Warning: some might be offset by the constant mispronunciation of "Paraticki" ... (I know I did)

Madueke was a bad one, but IIRC the club did offer him new contract(s) but he refused to sign/stay?

To describe Marcus Edwards as "one of the most sought after players in Europe" must be characterised as to slightly oversell his status ... and we all know about the signals that came out from the club, and from the clubs he went on loan to (Norwich and Excelsior). It took him quite a few years to grow up and realise what it takes to be a professional footballer.

No mentioning of Ashley Phillips nor Alejo Veliz, wich is slightly odd?

New spurs play video up of preseason training and he’s taking sessions. I think this is what he meant after the Man City game where he said he needed to do things differently behind the scenes. I’ve a feeling he’ll be a lot more involved actually taking sessions not just observing like we were told happen last year.

Exciting year to see how far he can take this ream, so hoping for a trophy, any trophy!

It's been a tough time supporting spurs and England.

Evolved it and perfected it.

From "Inverting the Pyramid":
At times during that 1950-51 season, their first back in the top flight, Spurs
were magnificent. After a 7-0 win over Newcastle in the November, for instance,
the Telegraph was moved to write that Tottenham’s method is simple. Briefly,
the Spurs principle is to hold the ball a minimum amount of time, keep it on the
ground and put it ahead into an open space where a colleague will be a second or
two later. The result is their attacks are carried on right through the side with
each man taking the ball in his stride at top pace, for all the world like a wave
gathering momentum as it races to the far distant shore. It is all worked out in
triangles and squares and when the mechanism of it clicks at speed, as it did on
Saturday, with every pass placed to the last refined inch on a drenched surface,
there is simply no defence against it.’ They won the title by four points, and were
still playing a similar style when they did the Double ten years later.

Such progressiveness was rare in England, though, and Spurs were regarded
with suspicion, despite their success.

I caught the back end of the push and run team. Started going to the Lane back in mid fifties. My big brother started taking me. He always stood behind the goal but when I started going on my own I always went up on the Shelf. Better watch in my mind. I’ve even climbed up the front of the shelf and hung on to watch when it was too packed in the stand. Tannoy used to say 60000 crowd but I’m sure it was higher. When used to go with my brother they used to let me jump over and charge half price. Think a few turnstile operators were earning extra. lol.
Great memories.

I saw a snippet of an interview on social media last night. Hadn't realised how much I have missed him.
Cannot wait to have our Spurs back

I didn't get to go regular until I moved to London in 2009. Getting a membership was the first thing I did. Always sat in the East Upper/Shelf as well, as much on the halfway line as I could for the view of the game.

New stadium is awesome, of course... but man I miss the Lane.

From "Inverting the Pyramid":
Love this, it infuriated me with England and annoyed me with Spurs to the end of last season...

Players taking 3+ touches and then passing sideways/backwards.

Players these days play it incredibly safe, very few willing to be brave on the ball. So much obsession over keeping the ball and actually being praised for it.

Liverpool under Klopp were one of the very few teams (in the PL) to break this trend and play with purpose.

Pass it forward. Run into space. And for the love of God if you're a winger and you're one on one with a fb, take him on.

I agree with Souness, when he said it was a 'doddle' playing CM in the modern game, take the ball turn and play it sideways or backwards to your centre backs, easy.

Luckily we have Ange and his philosophy mirrors this attacking mentality. Hopefully we have the squad so that if players are pissing about with the ball he can drag them off the pitch.

If Bergval and Gray show this attacking mentality I wouldn't be surprised if they become regulars before long. He was willing to play Udogie, Porro over Emerson (when Royal would have been the better defensive choice) and Sarr over more experienced players.

It's not got anything to do with age, it's talent and braveness that he wants. Werner may not be able to hit a barn door, but he'll play if Kulusevski doesn't play more positively. At least Werner is brave.and takes on his man.

There are many more examples. My favourite game last season was actually a loss. Home to Villa. Because we played without fear, creating chance after chance. Even the Chelsea loss was marvelous. Because we played with bollocks.

People obsess over wins and trophies. For me if England had beaten Spain it would have been a very hollow victory. One trophy doesn't erase a tournament of boring football playing like cowards.

It's not the end result but the journey. Ange is definitely the right man to take us on this journey.

Isn't winning the whole point of the game? The main objective of the game being to beat your opponent?

No, the game is about glory.

Winning by any means is not an idea I subscribe to. If it was I'd support City or Chelsea.

If Ange suddenly decided to play counter attack football, or passing it around until the opposition got bored I'd probably stop watching us. After José, Conte and Nuno I've had enough of that sort of mentality. I have better ways to spend my time.

I think for most people, the glory comes from winning football matches and trophies.

If you are mostly worried about just entertaining football, why only support Spurs? why not be a neutral and watch the team who play the most entertaining football for you? It seems this would be most logical thing to do especially with your last sentence.

Not much glory to be had if you aren't winning though. Surely they go hand in hand?

I think usually there needs to be a balance between playing entertaining football and winning trophies.

If you're a club consistently winning all the big trophies, you might get away with playing less exciting football. However, that FA Cup or league title will soon be forgotten if the football is dull to watch and more trophies don't follow in quick succession.

Similarly, entertaining football is exciting at the beginning of the journey, but frustration quickly sets in if trophies don’t follow.

But anyway, Ange has never given the impression that it's one or the other. He wants both.
