I'm seeing good signs in this regard. We definitely were set up to be more solid against City and it was a very balanced performance. And there have been visible changes in the set piece routines. It's come 4-5 weeks too late for me, but better late than never.

You simply cannot compete at the top of the PL with one solitary tactic and without prioritising set pieces.

Looking a bit of a fool with those quotes, mocking his club's fans?
Think your misreading this here mate.

He's not mocking the fans, he's holding his hands up to his mistake in mocking/belittling the situation in his previous press conferences.

Basically he's backing down and accepting that the fans had a right to be conflicted monday night.

(P.S. I don't think he actually believes this but knows that this is the best way to get the fans back onside which is important to him)

I wish one of the press would have asked him whether Celtic fans would have been the same if they stopped rangers winning the title. Would have been an interesting answer as Ange knows only too well that they would have been more pleased than we are. Their rivalry is on another level to any in the premier league.
If say a Europa League spot was on the line for Celtic then of course they would be the same as us. It's a mark of a very special rivalry of which there are now very few. IMO at the current top level Arsenal & Spurs as well as Chelsea & Spurs is the most fierce. Chelsea & Spurs probably being equalled by the Merseyside Derby.

He's rightly back tracked from his unnecessarily inflammatory comments. Isn't that a sign of good management? Being able to self-reflect and admit that the comments were unhelpful?
Yes, but you think most people in here can do that? So they'll gloat or die on a hill.

Wow, tough crowd.
I'm not sure he's mocking anyone, nor was he ever.
He's just said he doesn't understand it and to be honest, half of us on here don't either.

But it's done and dusted now and we move on to Sunday. 👍

Mersyside derby isn't fierce. Up until recently they used to sit next to each other in the ground...they've shared parades together and have the scouse siege mentality together. Blood and thunder rivarly it is not

Full press conference for those intrigued

His response to the question about the fan in the stadium (from about 11 minutes - 14 minutes) is well worth everyone's time. Really good presser and he shows a lot of character and self awareness.

The tone of that presser was spot on. Credit to Ange in putting a real calming presence on what has been a challenging week for the club and fanbase

get Sunday out the way and move on to next season.
