End of the season can't come soon enough!

Let's draw a line under this, agree to disagree and look to supporting Ange with the remit of remodelling this squad as he sees fit.

All this infighting serves no purpose.

Agree about the infighting but we had something to play for last night.

There’s been so many comments about it being a nothing game or our season already being over but that’s just not true.

The tweak he is talking about is mentality.

That's not down to tactics.

Gonna put a big guess here, so I may be miles off it.

Seen as the team played well and Ange gets furious when people don't share his mentality.

I'm going to take a guess and say he heard or was told some inside the club made comments/jokes/showed pleasure at Arsenal not winning the title and that has irked him.

Perhaps he is thinking of changing those people.

He can't do anything about the fans, not immediately. And that wouldn't be a tweak either.

He said inside and outside so he has to have seen something within the club in terms of attitude
The attitude inside the club has been pitiful for years, the top 4 is the be all and end all for our owners due to it increasing our brand.

Us the fans didn't exactly help the team try and win last night did we? In fact, some did exactly the opposite.
so? like I said, if the club can't provide us entertainment we do it ourselves. This isn't a marriage, we can pick and choose the club isn't offering us anything mutual in response.

Wow. Missed out on all this last night so just caught up reading through it all now, and it's really interesting to see how it's split the fanbase.

Personally, I don't blame any fan for taking the silver lining that came from the loss. I think that's just natural. But I don't agree with anyone who wanted us to lose before we'd even kicked off.

As for Ange, I don't blame him for anything he said either. It must have been a frustrating couple of days feeling like the only one who really wanted us to win the match, not moved at all by the connection the result would have to Arsenal's campaign. That's not to say he doesn't understand our rivalry - he's managed Celtic FFS, he knows how deep rivalries run - it's just not what he's about. I got the impression last night he was just frustrated feeling like the only one genuinely focused on us trying to put on a performance... without a single left-back to play against title challengers.

And we played well!

He's thinking bigger than many of the rest of us, and to be honest, that's exactly what we need. Some ruffled feathers are a small price to pay.

We literally still had the chance to qualify for the champions league. If that's not something to play for then I don't know what is.

In the same way that people have been saying that us winning would not have won arsenal the title, "there were 37 other games" or words to that affect, the same applies to us and the CL. Of all the games we did lose since Villa, yesterday was the only one that we actually played well in from start to finish.

The conflict was real and hence why there were a lot of tickets on the exchange, and the crowd were evidently passive watching on the TV. Some fans as others have said did go too far and whilst probably more in jest I was a bit surprised tbh. The manager and players are professionals, they want CL, they dont want to lose, crazy that any fan is heckling our sideline or players to lose, or even jokingly doing the poznan is really poor imo.

Arsenal winning the league would hurt us a lot more than not getting CL next season, not for the emotional / banter side of the game but on the field. If they were the team to stop City, they could push on further and become a dominant force for the next decade, they have a fairly young team to build around.

Them coming so close again but failing to win the league....could destroy them mentally, they are going to burn out at some point, you can't keep playing Saka for 45 + games a season and expect the same level of performance.

I hated watching the game last night, I didn't want us to win before kick off but as soon as that whistle went, I was excited to see us play and wanted us to score, that opening 10 minutes or so, where Bentancur had a chance, was really exciting to see us go toe to toe with City...for once. Usually we rely on counter attacking against them but we seem to have them pinned back and were pressing well.

I think Ange is doing a good job....not a great one, he needs to look at some of his own shortcomings as well as blaming the mentality of the club from top to bottom. Its time to get behind Ange and the team Sunday, get a good convincing win. Have a good transfer window and come back ready to go next season.

Whilst Ange is on the warpath I hope he calls out that silly little **** Jamie O’Hara and tell him he’s not welcome at the Club. All week he’s been an embarrassment to our fan base, like it or not he represents us to a big audience and yesterday he’s jumping around in a City shirt celebrating.

I don't remember that same level of hype over Arsenal fans not wanting us to win the CL. The fact that we are not at their level is undeniable and I think that's why it feels like we are always the 'spoiler'.
The same level of hype didn’t exist because they didn’t need to lose in order for us to win.

But the mentality of not wanting your most hated rival to win a major trophy at the expense of our club achieving something smaller is clearly evident in all fan bases.

Yeah that’s fair enough. I just happen to think we are as likely to develop it by playing in the Champions League as we are in the Europa.
I agree. I wasn’t comparing us being in the CL over the EL.

If we have a good transfer window I think we do have a chance to compete in the EL. I’m really hoping we go for it.

This rhetoric is pretty shit as well, during those games, he was clearly frustrated but also displayed some patience towards the process.

But he never had his own fans cheer that his team were losing in any of them, I don't ever remember seeing that before either.
The last time was when we were put in the exact same position in the early 2000's.

Yeah one thing that people overlook is that this is arsenals first title in 20years. If City hadn’t won a league in 20 years you probably see a lot more UTD fans cheering Arsenal (or just being quiet)

Thos notion that we are significantly different to any other set of fans is laughable really outside of your cities who win every year we are all fragile, we’re all fickle. UTD had the biggest winning mentality going and guess what, when they started losing all the time they lost it. If Arsenal start losing games next season, they’ll show their fragility etc etc

United don't give 2 fucks about City. Liverpool are their rivals

Good morning all.

It's a new day, can we draw a line under that horrific experience for us and move on.

The conflicting emotions were understandable, but let's not let them divide us and all move.on. it's done and our energies should return to focusing on our bright future under Ange.

But 99 was the final word. It was literally the last day of the season. Whereas Man C have to win another game now to be sure. So what they do against West Ham is likely to be the decisive factor.

If West Ham manage a draw then us losing last night will probably be totally irrelevant.

It’s probably worth noting that the general feeling amongst West Ham fans is that they also absolutely want to lose to deny Arsenal the title.

Not sure about that now. It’s just historically Man C didn’t matter for a long time.

I mean people have been talking about having to go to work with Arsenal fans etc but Man U fans living in Manchester must have to face the exact same thing.

Us the fans didn't exactly help the team try and win last night did we? In fact, some did exactly the opposite.

Weird then that the team played better than all the other recent home games when the fans were getting behind them. Watching the game in the stadium I found myself wondering if the lack of pressure from the home fans actually helped.

Morning!

No I don't think we should move on mate, I think this is a really important moment that needs discussion. Its shown our (current) manager what the other managers eventually also saw and vocalised and ended up being sacked.

It's very clear that there's still a mentality issue that comes right from the top and we cannot ignore it otherwise we will get nowhere.

No chance. He’s an ambitious guy and he has career goals he’s yet to achieve. It’s not a Conte situation where he feels like the club is beneath him and he’s got nothing to prove. He wants to prove himself in the PL. If he walks now then hi no chance of him getting a better job than this one.

He was angry last night but he’ll get over it. It was a unique situation and if he gets us fighting for trophies then he won’t need to worry about it happening again. He really is a douche. Absolutely pollutes the airwaves with his ill thought, low IQ opinions
He’s totally irrelevant and is told by Talk Shite bosses to behave this way as a route to attract attention which their half witted listeners will respond to in droves

Their hatred is 100% towards Liverpool. I know quite a few United season ticket holders and they couldn't really give 2 fucks about City.
