What I find odd is that some people genuinely think this is unique to us.

There are loads of examples of teams celebrating their rivals defeats. This one was slightly unique but people thinking this is a Spurs thing are being ridiculous.

Yeah, we have a problem with turning conflict inwards rather than outwards. It's not a bad perspective generally - to view your problems as being within - but as we can't resolve them these issues fester.

You have to look past this stuff. Some fans didn't mind losing given all the very specific circumstances. That's just what it is. Some fans aren't as against Levy as others are. You can't get angry about that and try to litigate it as if you can gain something from it. It is what is it. Move forward.

Maybe a bit of context about who we've played in those?

Anyway, today is a new day, I still think Ange could be the one and I think the last few pages have only cemented what a fragile lot we all are.

COYS!
All football fans are fragile.

I've no issue with anything he has said. I just wish I saw more of this energy after some of the recent losses.

I do, he just basically called us and everything to do with the club losers.

Most of us were behind the team and wanting a win before it became evident that wasn't going to happen

Because of a few supporters that could have been drunk or anyone.

Just having a dig at our rivals doesn't make us losers.

I’m not. Our transfer business the last 3 or 4 windows has been good.

Like always some targets will be missed due to clubs not selling, asking prices being too higher and huge competition for the signing.

The idea that qualifying for the CL changes is evidently not true.
It potentially impacts the budget, but it clearly doesn’t impact the level of player we can sign. We signed Romero, Van de Ven, Maddison, Bentancur outside of the CL. Which amazing next-level players did we sign after we’d qualified for it?

Im glad Ange is angry and he isnt wrong at all. Im convinced he is the right man to change us but the fans need to change too.
The fans mentality will change when the club does something to force that.
We are the product of 2 decades of winning next to fuck all. No fanbase of a club that wins buggar all has a 'winners mentality'... it's a side effect of actually winning.

And just to be clear here the fans mentality has zero effect on the teams output. That comes from the owner, the structure of the club, the manager, the coaches, and of course the players.

Give us something tangible to actually celebrate and we'll change.

Agree.

This was a unique situation. People have every right to want us to win and focus on ourselves or wanting to lose so our most hated rival don’t win the league as the gains for us was minimal anyway.

What I can’t get on with is the “you’re not a real fan if you think this” attitude going round the board.

My personal favourite has been “you don’t understand elite level sport.”

The depths some go to make out they’re better fans others is genuinely pathetic.

None better than what we were buying already which was my point.

That's true, but I do think it's getting worse.
Maybe but normally these things track the results or the direction of the club. This is why I find the whole talk of fan mentality totally laughable. If Ange is honest and he makes a list of all the things that need to change then he sorts them out in terms of priority fan feeling is way down there. It’s driven by results on the pitch. He knows this as it’s the same anywhere you go in the world.

I think football rivalries are a huge part of the sport and not wanting your most hated rival to win a major trophy goes along with that.
Perhaps, for some! I personally cannot understand that, I just want my team to win, same goes for any team I support in any sport! I just want to win and fuck everyone else!

I've seen it from both sides. I was told I'm not a real fan or don't understand the sport because I wanted us to win.. also the other favourite go to "oh you must not understand the rivalry or have any Arsenal fans around you. That or you're too young!".

They are, for sure but I do think that there is somewhat of an inferiority complex with Arsenal and to be fair, we have played second fiddle to them for decades.

Which is fine but I find it weird for a fan to dismiss rivalries and the histories that go with it.

Yep, the level many have turned on each other to show they’re the best fan has been genuinely pathetic.

Yep. Both sides equally annoying gatekeeping fandom.

Arsenal fans wanted to lose the EL final and us the CL final over both winning.

It’s not a Spurs specific way of thinking in the slightest.

He's right though. Especially if that is what the attitude has been behind closed doors, inside the club. Absolutely unacceptable for a club the size of ours to have an attitude like that.

A lot of us here have pointed out for years that the club is rotten. He's right.
