I think Ange needs to look at himself and his staff since we got the bulk of our players back. As for the game, I was clearly surrounded by Citeh fans, mostly from the Middle East

Well I'm not going to argue with him about that if that's the case.

Regardless of how you felt you wanted things to go prior to the game publicly celebrating us losing is shameful imo.

It's not like others haven't said similar in the past. It's a problem that's been running throughout the club for decades and that very much includes sections of the fan base.
Totally agree. Was at the game tonight and this was comfortably the most embarrassed I have ever been to be a Spurs fan.

I get the dilema Spurs fans were put in and I also get fans wanting us to lose (even if I personally wanted us to win). But actively cheering City's goals in the ground and the atmosphere ramping up when City's goals went in was just so fucking shameful.

Think it's pretty ill advised to go after the fans after 5 losses in the last 6, when that awful form has a direct impact in why we were here in the first place.

Has the manager any other reason to be upset with the fans? No.

Is this freak scenario ever likely to happen again under Ange? Nope.

He probably is angry with himself and his players but he saw his team go toe to toe with probably the best team in Europe and our own fans laughed and celebrated when we conceded. It's no wonder he's pissed off.
Why didn’t we go toe-to-toe with Wolves, Fulham, and Chelsea? The mentality definitely needs to change. We should never want to lose a game, but the tribalism in football has brought this on.

You believe that is justification?

Not for celebrating the win, but for not caring we lost today. Yes.

Change needs to come from the players and put in performances in and win something.

I wobbled and was largely on the fence over this Arsenal thing. I found it difficult to decide. I thought I had a handle on it but if you reflect inwards with a view to asking yourself is he right, then as much as it hurts to admit it, he probably is. Changing the mentality of a club who's fans routinely laugh at themselves with the spursy gags and all that ain't straighforward. And that's just the fans. Fuck knows what he feels needs changing behind the scenes. I don't expect many people will agree here because it's easier to find something to have a pop at and shift it, but the kind of change we need ain't going to be easy to achieve and sometimes change, what that entails and some home truths are painful.

I think people are focussing too much on certain results this season. Take it as a whole, accept that his talking about his experience here and as much as sometimes the truth hurts, his observations are probably bang on.

I'm sunk to the nuts on Ange

Yeah I disagree. The booing at half time in games, the disgusting shit Emerson was getting last season just for being selected etc. it's not the first time the supporters have let the club down. You can argue how much it's justified, but whether it is or it isn't it does not help the situation it only makes it worse.

Just to make it concrete, I can't imagine Real Madrid fans would be cheering any goal against them at the Bernabeu regardless of circumstances.

Partially agree but we have watched our team ship goals all season and been angry about it. At least here shipping a goal had a modicum of relief in it. I was very much wanting us to win and joked about not being but the shoddy weak ass performances we have seen for large portions of this final run in has left us all a bit jaded. After the villa result last night CL was going to be a tall order and had our team not ruined their chances earlier in season then we wouldn’t be here at all.

Maybe if the players turned up in other games and stopped giving away so many cheap/shit goals, we wouldn't be needing to go to the last game or two. Or the fans would be better supporting as they haven't put up with shit performances for game after game for months.
Yeah I think he's on shakier ground in reference to his comments after that dire performance we put in at Chelsea. If we'd played well of late but had just been unlucky then I think he'd have been more entitled to show his frustration.

I totally get why he’s mad. It’s a losers mentality to worry about a rival more than your own club.
THIS IS IT! The fan base's mentality. The Spurs fan base lacks belief!! It's as simple as that. Often, if the team doesn't play well, anxiety permeates around the stadium, inevitably affecting the player's performance. The club as a whole definitely lacks a winners mentality. Clubs like Man U had it (definitely not now), even when they had a shite side during the twilight of Fergies career.

How do you know he’s not?
Do you expect him to show his anger with the players in public?
He’s been very animated on the touchline these last few weeks so I’m sure he’s far from happy with a number of individuals.

Being angry at fans singing ‘are you watching Arsenal’ when losing a game is totally understandable if you ask me.
I wasn’t at the game but it seemed the “are you watching Arsenal”chants near the end came from the city fans. Admittedly, the only thing I could hear from our fans was the occasional stand up of you hate Arsenal but we sing that every game (though not the only thing we sing lol)

Guys a hypocrite .. and an idiot for coming for the fans don’t questions fragility when you choose to not be flexible enough with your squad becuase you have your beliefs . You got caught out and you refused to tweak the system over the last 2 months which would have walked us top 4 . Honestly I’m not ange out and I can see what he’s trying to do but he needs to earn that right before he can walk away with his mouth.

season was over when we threw stupid games away he should be angry with himself and his players .

This is a shit take. We are constantly a laughing stock, the butt of the joke, no one takes us seriously and we have to constantly wear it. So we just look like a bunch of shitheads hoping our own team loses so we can say Arsenal fell short, while finishing 20 points ahead of us anyway. Ange isn’t here to get Top 4. That’s not his goal, and he knows if we are going to turn the tide on what is basically a Series of Misfortunate Events FC, we’ve got to believe. Playing side to the fanbase, like what happened at Liverpool and now at Arsenal.

So hoping your team loses, celebrating a loss, is so fucking absurd to me I can’t even fathom how anyone can reconcile being a fan of a club but wanting that to happen. We aren’t the playing side, they’ve let us down before, but at the end of the day we are supposed to love the club unconditionally, even when they appear to do everything in their power to make you question why you do, and for me, that means always wanting the best for Tottenham, not what’s worse for a rival. Fuck Arsenal.
