Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

Comes from the top down.

Need to change that to fix the issue.
It's obvious that people are starting to become emboldened about the idea of Ange getting sacked - and people can dress it up any way they want but it's clear that people are coming out of 'closet' so to speak. If anyone genuinely thinks that changing things yet again won't simply land us back in the same situation in another few months is sorely deluded.

Some of our play these past 5 matches has been inexcusable…. But this last 30minutes for today has shown that ange can still get us playing some sexy stuff, as that has been missing for the last month.

Incan take a defeat, at the end of the day im here to be entertained.

The last 30 mins Skipp and Richy finally added some impetus to the team and all of a sudden Son had players to play with and started to look better.

Ange picked the starting line up. The players that came on were the ones that were better

He has to try and get the starting 11 right.
Think we all wanted Richy and most want le Celso to start, maybe he can see that now
We have to try and persevere with Ange

Shit starting selection. Others have proved if you have a go at them they're iffy at the back.

Emerson, Kulu- give me a break.

Lo C obviously won't sign a new contract or train hard enough. But at least he has ball skills...

Anyone can see we’re getting shredded down our left but he’s done fuck all about it.
Either a midfielder or preferably Johnson should be tracking back and helping Royal.
Shocking. Absolutely shocking.
He has to wise up and fast.

This. Royal was awful, but at the same time, why did Ange put a right footed player who's not match fit vs one of the best wingers in the league? And without anyone giving him support. Johnson didn't help and neither did one of our three midfielders. Horrible from Ange.

I don’t think it’s as simple as that. They obviously aren’t starting for a reason, either they don’t want them getting injured as we want to sell them, or they’re not fit enough to play 90 minutes, or maybe a combination of the two.

Maybe he just feels we need the ability to inject energy into our play later in games.

Whatever the reasons, I trust he knows what he’s doing.

How anybody can watch that game today and came to the conclusion Ange has lost the dressing room is genuinely wild.

Also how people can blame his tactics as the main problem today when he has this squad at his disposal? Richarlison being on for 30 mins showed how good his football can be just by having an actual focal point at striker, but he’s clearly not fit to start. Oh and those moaning about Royal at LB, what else was he supposed to do? He’s literally the only other fit full back we have. At least criticise him for something he has control over.

But most of all, even if we were fully healthy, we may have the least talent in midfield and attack of any side in the top half of the table. So technically poor across the board, and square pegs in round holes all over the place. So much work needed on this squad before any real judgement can be be laid at his feet imo. No manager is turning this squad into challengers.

Don’t let the last 10 fool you , Liverpool had taken players off and relaxed completely , it was very similar to Brighton away , shouid have been 6 down before we scored . The guy let Emerson royal be totally isolated against Salah , enough said . Same issues every week .

That last 30 minutes was a nice reminder that we can play some good football. Shame we didn't set out this way or make the change earlier but at 4-0 I was fearing the worst so will take the pleasant surprise.

can see why he had such a pathetic record in Europe for Celtic
Excellent stick to beat him with because Celtic managers do usually have an excellent record in Europe ummm.gif

"if Tottenham want to change. If they want to continue in this way, they can change manager, a lot of managers, but the situation cannot change. Believe me."

And this is my concern.
Salah is dangerous enough against a recognised left-back, let alone a reserve right-back.

Klopp doubled down on this by having Elliott &/or TAA gang up on that side. Yet Postecoglou did fuck all about it. We needed Sarr and Johnson to help out yet time & time again Royal was outnumbered. Yes he was badly at fault for the first goal when ball watching but it was wave after wave of attacks that infuriated me.
He’s actually coming across quite arrogant now. We’ll play our way (including leaving Johnson high & wide so he’s available when (if) we win the ball back) and fuck the quality of the opposition.

Selling players is not Ange problem.
Winning games is.
Playing a not very good right back against one of the best LWF is at best stupid.
No European football means less transfer kitty and less player pool to choose from.

the attacking side of our game is one dimensional, not sure how much that’s affecting the rest of the game but we getting caught out so easily defensively. So much space on the outside then players completely unmarked in the box. Somethings not right with the balance of the team
