I am old enough to remember a panic that Liverpool might take Postecoglou this summer.
Thing that bothers me is that no-one seems concerned about how many bloody coaches and new starts we have to go through before we get some stability. It's shit at the moment, yes but we've been here with this so many bloody times over the last few years. Most of the comments could literally be cut and pasted, bar a different name of coach. Is anyone truly enthusiastic about the possibility of going through yet another change?

I don’t think anyone is enthusiastic about anything to do with the club at the moment. There is no obvious answer.

I just feel like it's self defeating to keep changing. People don't have the stomach for set backs on here.

Not what I want but I really think he could be in some trouble if this form continues until the end of season.

He needs his players as does any manager but we are so far off it if we lose our remaining games playing like this I think Levy will have a big call to make.

There are a lot of issues at the moment and will Levy back someone who has finished a season this poorly?

he doesn't know how to stop this slide, we're incapable of both scoring and defending, even Burnely and Sheff Utd are looking unlikely wins at the moment.

We've had one summer window. Unfortunately some of the incomings so far are looking more to be backup/rotation players as opposed to starters going forward if the rebuild is to be completed fully over the full three years.

It does seem that way.

It’s actually really very simple:
1) Ange needs better players to play this way, especially in attack! But also 1-2 better more suitable midfielders and certainly better back-up RB & LB’s are needed
2) The tactics likely need changing a bit, we are worryingly open and very poor at set pieces

These 2 things seriously need addressing this summer.

Agree.

Johnson should be a back-up, Kulu isn’t good enough to start, Maddison isn’t consistently making that spot his own, new quality signings this summer could make a huge difference.

Let’s not forget guys that these players have seen several Managers off in the same fashion.

Conte said as much.

I really thought this was going to be a thoroughly enjoyable season. I knew we’d likely be erratic, but maybe had enough talent to finish in one of the European spots. The first eighth or nine games were magical. Felt like the start of something some of us older Spurs fans have been dreaming about for thirty years (and so nearly got there with Poch.)

Instead it has been borderline insufferable. Especially the second half of the season. It has been an exercise in surrealism. A Groundhog Day season. Watching the same match over and over again.

I genuinely thought once we were over the injury and suspension crisis we would see gradual improvement again. But it’s been the opposite. With each passing game our mistakes increase and our attacking play is nauseating.

Since the last few months of Poch era until now, it has been so rough at times. We’ve been on the hamster wheel. And it is always the same chuffing debates. Coach or players.

Invariably, it starts with a few, and the few grow to a crew, and the crew become a mob. Same old shit begins when a couple start questioning the coach after a bad result or two. Then it’s like a cancer that spreads among the fan base. Who would want to coach Spurs, when we have so many fans with the patience of a colicky baby.

I swear there is some weird symbiosis between fan rancor and player fear. As we have seen this show over 200 times in the last four seasons.
Stage One; New manager gets about two to four months worth of unconditional fan backing
Stage Two; Some bad luck and bad results and untimely injuries start creeping into results. One or two fans start mumbling discontent about the manager.
Stage Three; The team is fully erratic. Plays well in spurts, but also loses games they shouldn’t. The one or two naysayers have grown into a few dozen.
Stage Four; The team cannot string together a good half of football anymore. The players’ confidence is shot to hell. All playing in fear. Nearly all making errors every game. The doom patrol has now become a virus spreading doubt and disillusion throughout the fanbase.
Stage Five; Manager sacked.

And around and around we go.

It really does make me wonder, if at times, we, the fans, are one of the biggest problems.

Ready for this season to be over. I pray we can win one game to keep us in the top seven. And pray harder that Ange gets what he wants and can turnaround this listless ship. I also hope that the currently small virus is stamped out quickly with a good start to next year’s campaign.
Screw it. Out with him! 😜😂😜

I agree we need players for his tactics but they can only do so much if we play 2 at the back
