I think most are guilty of this on both sides of the coin.

I see all the shortcomings so far and I just love an under dog story. I want him to succeed just to shove it in Carraghers face when he wins something.
yea agree with this. We all want Spurs to succeed at the end of the day, but we can all have our own opinions about players and managers etc. Gets a bit tiring when the same old words like Agenda, Narrative etc gets chucked out there in a post, when someone doesnt have the same opinion.

Lol.

To be honest, I don't really know why anyone would be on a discussion forum, throwing ratings around like confetti but never actually saying anything.
It's all a bit odd.
I suspect that it is in part that some people don't feel confident posting their opinions.

That's fine but if you're going to lurk, lurk properly and don't voice whatever you may be thinking through the ratings system without backing it up.
I can be a bit of a gobshite but I very, very rarely hand out disagrees, let alone negs.
I'd rather explain what I'm thinking and try to open a discussion and understanding.

I mean, we're a pretty welcoming bunch here, aren't we?! 🥺

Those bloody ratings are the worst thing about this site. I’m as guilty as anyone of using them as a quick response but they cause so much unnecessary stuff.

From the negative ones, to the laughing at someone’s post and then of course people getting themselves wound up by it . I actually wish you could only use agree or winner,

It's no surprise we pressed better and for longer yesterday, a week off plus multiply players, especially forwards coming back.

Love or hate the system, we need the depth for it to work, with so many injuries and basically no options on the bench for months now, we've clearly struggled.

Again, not saying the tactics are perfect, but if we are going to play this way, we will perform and pick up alot more points with a nearly fully fit squad.

Yeah I know and I don't either but at the end of the day, that's their prerogative. Let's face it, people have openly expressed their opinions and we just go around in circles anyway.

I actually like the rating system, I just think that some folk get carried away with the four on the right-hand side and are too eager to use them unnecessarily.

I got called toxic the other day and told that I should keep out of the anti-ENIC thread :playful:

I've been around for a fair while but I didn't post with any regularity here for many years as I think it seemed hard to have your opinion recognised and responded to seriously with a really low post count. Either that or I wasn't posting any commentary of interest I suppose!

But I think in general trying to worm your way in to a user base of people that have been a little community for what is now decades can be a bit daunting. I don't blame those not wanting to get into all of that I suppose in that respect. Would be nice to see some of the serial reacters though post a bit more, as they are known people with known views in a sense, just without any of us understanding the nuance.

I think that's a shame if people think like that because an opinion from someone with 10k posts isn't necessarily any more relevant than someone with 5 posts. I've posted on here for years and I don't know my arse from my elbow on a lot of football topics.

Yeah, I found that when I first came out of the lurking shadows, joined up properly and started posting.
It did feel like I was being ignored by the regulars for a while and wasn't completely accepted.

I countered that by dishing out plenty of positive ratings, thus gaining recognition for my username and sheer stubbornness.

I dipped out for a few years because I started a family, so hardly even posted for a few years.
That was around the time that I discovered I lived across the road from @TaoistMonkey, who then became a mod but has now sadly disappeared (although I did see his Mrs the other day I haven't seen him about for years).
I also found out that @kezza lived in the same village as us both - it really is a small world.

I do love this place though and it's really worth trying to become an actual part of the community, rather than just hiding in the shadows.

I guess it's one's right to express themselves how they want.

I thought it was just me getting likes from him/her/it so do not feel special anymore!

As Ange is pretty.much here til end of season and some players back not much happening here. Maybe we could start a - Who is Zond?thread over the international break!

He isn’t getting sacked now this season. 13 games left in the league and a stab at Europa. I still don't think he is our solution going into next season but there will be more managerial options available in the summer.

The win yesterday was against a really poor United team and although I think we shaded it, we still couldn't fully control the game or rectify the gap issues in midfield/wide that we seem to continue having.
Have to agree with you. He isn't the long term solution. We scored off an Onana mistake and a more clinical United team would have punished us. I like that he is giving the youngsters minutes but I'm.not a fan of his Gung ho football approach. I'd still relieve him of his duties at the end of the season ...our style of play, mounting injuries through the season are all on Ange.

You fully read the post I replied to, I assume?

I’ll rephrase my reply if you like:

Some football fans regurgitate opinions and perpetuate narratives without realising they’re doing it.
For example, person X could be getting bent out of shape because of reason Y. Reason Y can actually be refuted with facts and data. Person X still rants about it regardless, rather than taking time to educate themselves.

Perhaps agenda is the wrong word. Apologies.
What word would you use??

Our resident silent assassin.
9 posts in 6 years but always prepared to hide behind a negative or sarcastic rating.

I really think you should only have access to ratings if you are a contributing member, not a cowardly troll.
It's quite possible @Zond doesn't agree with you. I don't find him to be a troll. Some people find it easier to use the ratings. Johnweldon is the same. Men of few words.

It's not the disagreeing that is annoying, it's the dislikes and sarcastic funny ratings without ever providing any explanation that grates.
I don't expect everyone to agree with me but most people will at least explain why and put their ideas across.

At least John posts sometimes and usually is pretty thoughtful when he does.
@Zond is the one person on this entire site that I don't recall ever saying a word.
That coupled with the fact they've got their profile locked down makes them stand out as a bit of a target.

It's even becoming a bit of a running joke.

i went to thumbs up your post, but felt conflicted (as a mostly proper lurker).

I sometimes have something i might sayand see someone else made the point (or 30 people did, lol). i'll give the best (or first) one i see a thumbs up or an agree or an occasional winner for a well made point. probably not what you're talking about (and the silly neg rep wars are not even fun to lurk in, but i stay out of those, generally)

Does Zond come up in therapy?

If he gave you positive ratings like tp you like most of us on here would you feel different!

Apparently means probe in Russian so maybe it's fuckin deep state Russia meddling

I've gotten many agrees, winners and likes from him on posts. So I know he isn't trolling.

Anyway I miss the doh rating that one I want to use so often. I ignore the rating stuff. It doesn't get to me.

Players that were part of the squad that ended the season prior to Ange joining and still here:

Forster - Back up
Reguilon - Predominantly out on loan
Davies
Romero
Spence - Predominantly out on loan
Bissouma
Bentancur
Sarr - 20 y/o at point of Ange joining
Son
Richarlison - Made of biscuits
Kulusevski
Porro - Joined 6 months prior

Players that have joined or been added to the squad from the academy since Ange joined:

Last Season:
Vicario - Significant injury this season
Udogie - Spells out in both seasons
VDV - Large spells out both seasons
Maddison
Johnson
Werner - Joined last Jan
Dragusin - Joined Jan last season. Limited mins. Significant injury

This Season:
Gray - 18!
Bergvall - 18!
Solanke
Moore - 17!
Odobert - Significant injury
Solomon - predominantly loaned out/injured
Kinsky - 21 and been here weeks
Tel - 19 and been here weeks
Danso - Been here weeks

Injuries across both seasons has obviously been spoken about but the turnover in numbers and also age and style profile has been monumental and barely mentioned.

Changes like that have a huge impact and take a while to settle. Especially when adding the injuries to that conversation.

Most people in here agreed that squad revolution was needed. Inconsistency is what that looks like.

I think we have the great foundation of a squad here. With huge growth/upside potential to add key pieces to moving forward.

Last night, with I’ll admit the proverbial post nut clarity, I had a deep think about this season.

If we manage to win the EL and finish the league respectfully above 10th place, as a whole it would probably be the best comeback we’ve seen in decades.

Ravaged with injuries, dropping points like Delta Airlines planes, and Ange still manages to deliver a trophy? A European trophy at that. What a story it would be. It would absolutely murder his critics.

This is what football is all about. The ups and downs, the highs and the lows. We love every bit of it, even if we can’t admit it in the moment.

Genuinely hope Ange and the boys keep things together, stay relatively injury free and go on an unprecedented run of results until the end of the season.
