It blows my mind that people still think the injuries are just normal and shouldn’t be taken into consideration.

We weren’t shit before the injuries - we were just off the CL places. We were inconsistent and had clear issues to work on, but we weren’t shit.

Re injuries, you’re right that we don’t know how much Ange’s methods contribute to that, but it’s fair to say it’s almost certainly a factor (as he has conceded) and the fact that we’ve turned over the medical staff also suggests a problem but that one nit of Ange’s making.

if we were missing a couple of key players at a time because of Ange’s methods I think that would be a problem but we would still be a lot further up the league than we are. We are missing essentially an entire defence plus we have had our entire backup attack out most of the season. To ignore that in any evaluation of our form is just downright bizarre

Of course the injuries should be taken into consideration but if you stand back and look at our form since last November to this November (before the injuries got really bad) our form has been really poor.

That's well over a year's worth of evidence whereby the injuries weren't as bad as they are currently.

We',ve been hugely inconsistent in that period even with our best players more available and playing regularly

Now since November just passed, the injuries have been worse.

So we've gone from inconsistent to consistently poor. So injuries have done that for sure.

But I'm sick of the general inference that it's all down to injuries as to why we've generally been way off in the league for the best part of a year plus, it's not.

We',ve always been inconsistent (bar his first ten games) so the problems were there regardless.

Now the injuries have just completely exacerbated our inconsistency.

The root of our inconsistency is to do with how we're set up to play week in week out.

The injuries shouldn't be used to mask the real problem.

Ange criticised our supporters for wanting to lose to Citeh last year
He didn't really though, he just said that he couldn't understand why we would want to lose a game. For him every game is a game we should go and win.

I'm personally with him, and on the Arsenal point - we should be judging ourselves on ourselves, not where our rivals finish in the league.

yet couldn't motivate the team for a NLD
Team looked pretty motivated to me, just a knackered largely 2nd string team out on the pitch that struggled to match the quality of Arsenal.

- he is not good enough, just look at the stats
I'd rather look at the entire picture than just the stats thanks.

Totally agree and that’s before even thinking about whether Ange bears any responsibility for said injuries.

Which he does.

Nottingham bloody Forest have nothing to do with where we are, except, maybe, that their manager is the last bloke we sacked for being ‘hopeless’.
I am not saying they have anything to do with were we are. But they are that far ahead of us with far less ressources and individually worse players.

Nuno was never a fit for us.

Denial is calling the first third of our league season shit, because the reality is that at 12 games in were 3 points off 3rd and at 13 games in we were 3 points off 4th.

We were also underperforming in terms of results at that point, as can clearly be seen from our GD.
Facts isn’t a popular subject on here.

Dunno. I'd like t think he learnt something from appointing Jose and Conte, but it is Levy I suppose.

The one shining light for me is that Lange appointed Emry at Villa, if he's left to get on with fining the successor and not forced to appoint another CAA Base represented manager he might just get it right.

That's a great point regarding Emery and Lange.

Will they come and kiss Levy’s fat white arse cheeks though?
It’s funny how you say how entrenched people are and just want Ange out so they can be seen to be right and then post stuff like this about Levy. What the colour of his skin or how big his bunda is has to do with anything is beyond me.

I do wonder how much backing Ange will now get in the Jan window. We must strengthen as we’re in the shit, whether it’s players Ange wants might be irrelevant if he’s gone next week
The issue with strengthening now given our league position is we could end up with a LOT fewer games to play so come the summer, wed have new players to integrate plus a bunch of older players that we probably need to move on (Bissouma, Bentancur, Maddison, Richie etc) as they wont get the game time without European matches. Romero and possibly others wont want to hang around either without Europe IMO.

Poch would come back in a heartbeat if offered.

He adores the premier league and living in London.
No. He was lucky with our youth players and then ran really well with them. He knows Levy too well without having to write his own contract.

If you click on this to open up the thread of Tweets - it is a reasonably interesting thread to really put our injuries and player burn out into context
