No they're not backing him because this is what they do.

The players we need would still be required under a new manager so it doesn't make sense not to ge them in.
What if the new manager doesn’t fancy the players that Ange picks out?

Have you seen enough fight in this team over the last 6 weeks to suggest they have the stomach and the stones for a relegation fight?

Inconsistent is one thing, but we've been absolutely dreadful for weeks now. Weeks.
Half the team plays like they expect it to suddenly click, and for someone else to do the hard part for them. It’s why they stand still and wait for the ball to play into their feet apart from Solanke whenever we get into the final third. It’s why the player with the ball will knob it about until they either give it away or just speculatively dink it towards the penalty area or play a through ball to a runner who’s on their heels.

It’s been a problem since March last year for us, and it’s even effecting our few bright spots of late like Bergvall - when he started to carry it into the right hand side of their box, turned and played it back to Porro who passed it straight out I close to head in hands.

Im pretty sure he won’t have personally identified them! The scouting department and Lange take the credit for that, he’s played them because they are able to walk and don’t have residency in the treatment room. But he has played them and needs some credit for that.
He needs credit as a lot of managers wouldn't have used them. They'd have had Bissouma at CB Instead.

Bergvall was our best player tonight and Ange needs credit for starting him ahead of Maddison (as an example).

We need to keep the bigger picture in mind. We are rebuilding.

Losing at the Emirates by one goal whilst giving experience to the youngsters is so much more valuable than what usually happens (losing anyway)

And if we lose to Everton on Sunday then we'll be 15th. Fifteenth!! This is Tottenham Hotspur. Regardless of what you think the problem is, be it the club, or the manager, or both as I do in this case, that is unacceptable.

A season in the bottom half isn't something the club will sit up and take note of and its not going to wave a magic wand and make everything ok. We aren't too good to go down, but we are too big to go down. But those two don't mean a damn thing and if we get dragged further down the table this squad hasn't got the fight in it to get out of it.

Buddy if you apply Wolves points per game to the rest of the season, they'll end up on 29 points. You don't think we can get 5 more points in the rest of the season?

For us to be relegated, almost all the teams below us would have to have a major shift in performance levels. It's not going to happen, just concern-trolling in my opinion. As bad as we've been there are several teams much worse.

Very few managers would throw them in the deep end like Ange has
Out of necessity, because we've currently got 1 fit centre back. Ange has said himself the 2 of them (Bergvall and Gray) have grown immeasurably because of the opportunities they've been given with this injury crisis. They'd be playing cup matches and getting handfuls of minutes to see games out if everyone had stayed fit. It's not like he chose to play Gray at centre back.

He's been the highlight of the season and we only see small glimpse of him compared to training etc

Bit scary he's only playing because of injuries
To be fair to Gray, and Ange, he was playing regularly at RB as Porro's cover already. He's only playing every game now because of injuries, but while he seems to be thriving in it it's not ideal to be putting a player so young through such a physical and mental load which is why it doesn't happen often and can go wrong sometimes.

To his credit he seems up to it both mentally and physically for the time being.

For the 1st time I have lost faith in Ange. The substitutions did nothing to impact the game. I would be prepared to give him time but he has to change his mindset
In fairness I don’t think Tory’s game is the one to lose faith in, it’s the gutless performances (Liverpool aside) against the teams struggling

The thread he's hanging by is getting smaller.

We were genuinely so close to getting knocked out of the FA Cup to non league opposition aswell

The teams below us, bar Leicester and Saints, have seen upturns in form since sacking their managers.

We are below West Ham who some thought would be in the scrap and have been worse than us this season.

Wolves also have 3 more points than us over the last 8 games too, if you want to be pedantic about it.

There's no trolling. I've seen this movie before with other clubs. The slide becomes hard to stop.

Ange isn't the one finding the players the recruitment team is and thats how it should be. I'm sure Ange has a say and speaks to the players but this is why you have a sporting director.

You recruit players and managers for a style of football so there's continuity.

Didn’t DL talk about the 2 year lifecycle of a coach when he did that Cambridge union talk? Surely if that is the case then the philosophy needs to largely remain consistent and subsequent coaches should be able to avoid having to start all over again. That’s been a major part of our problem over the last few years.

Ange is never going to play two 18 year olds in midfield.
Gray and Bergvall wouldn't have had a look in if we had kept our players fit, Ange can't take the credit as he's had no choice but to play them as there's nobody else!
I think he would. We started Bergvall and Sarr today, at 22, and Sarr was the one hooked while Bergvall and Gray saw the game out. If he trusts Gray as one of two CBs then I can't see why he won't trust him as one of 3 CMs.

My main problem is that we can sack him but without investing heavily in players we will be in the same situation in 1 year time. Ok maybe 9 place but what's the difference. And still I have more faith in Ange winning games than in our board to invest. So yeah I dont know what's next really...
It feels like the club has accepted that this season is for the cups, and that our younger players will have more impact next season
Tbf gray and bergvall should be starters in midfield next season alongside kulusevski.
kinsky, spence, udogie, vdv, vuskovic, Moore would all add to the youthful exuberance that seems to be planned for. perhaps Yang too

So we may find the experience gained this season will be useful. But this season is certainly one to look past.
as ange said himself, he’d be gutted if someone else got to work with these players next season.
Have to hope we can win a cup a Europa feels the most likely but we need more attackers

I will say although I'm still Ange in, the one thing that pisses me off is talking to his feet during post match interviews.

Stop looking like a 5 year old who got caught stealing cookies.

We were crap and should have lost by more and created sod all, he has to play gray at centre half as we have no one else and we are meant to glory in being 14th just because he didn’t play bissouma in defence , he hasn’t played gray once in his proper position

Never liked his "everyone's my mate" persona, and I think he's a fucking awful manager but we've got no choice but to stick with him until Summer.

Fingers crossed we luck out and fluke a cup to add some glitter to this absolute turd of a season (and era in general).

What about the months before Jan?
Surely recruiting new players is an ongoing process.
If the desire and ambition is there then signings can be made in Jan.
Yep we have a recruitment team and that’s their job, no excuses do the job you’re hired and paid well to do.

The only fact that means anything is that Ange is still coach and the only person that can make that change is our esteemed chairman. No amount of Jedi like mind force on here will make it happen.
Not with that attitude it won't.
