There’s self belief (or confidence) and then there’s calling yourself a genius.
Only someone like Mourinho can claim something like that. You need to have an incredible CV to back that up. He only has a few titles in sone pony leagues and he’s not particularly young
Well it’s his last big throw at the dice isn’t it so why not go big or go home.

He’s right, if he ends up a huge success at spurs he will be lauded as a ‘genius’ succeeding where so many others have failed.

Let’s hope that is the case but as things stand it obviously doesn’t seem likely but in football you never know.

Nice try.
But still makes the squad which makes your point mute.
He could select any youth players to take that place.
Which youth LB would you suggest he uses?

The fucking spitefulness toward a bloke who's done nothing wrong is just bewildering. You're both objectively wrong in how you've read that, but you're so certain you're right because you've decided he's this arrogant egotistical moron already. So fuck reading comprehension or any sense, let's get nasty.

Maybe we deserve to be shite.
Tbh, I really couldn’t care less if he’s a decent bloke or a jackass, if he backs whatever he says on the pitch.
Over his tenure he’s talked so much about him, that this quote doesn’t come as a surprise.
Btw, we are already shit. For a year now.

No, you haven't and that's quite clear.

What people are saying is that there's not been the quality to rotate, let alone the numbers but "rotation" seems to be the latest word that people are throwing at him.

Myself and others have listed the rotation options that have been available to him and the obvious reasons why he's been hesitant to use them but yourself and select others are choosing to ignore what been said, just to repeat "yeah but he should have rotated" like it's actually a valid thing to say given all the circumstances at play.

It's honestly like trying to talk to children sometimes in here.
Yea agree, I don’t think Ange could’ve done much different or better in terms of squad management / rotation at all.

The injuries could be partly due to his intense style of play then exacerbated by the need to then play players more often than he’d want causing them to also get injured but it’s also down to the squad he was given not being deep or good enough to cope with injuries and trying to compete in 4 competitions.

The fact you've decided this anonymous comment is about you without me even mentioning your name speaks volumes
If you are going to post a message judging other posters and calling them ‘numpties’ then be man enough to receive replies and don’t hide.
Using your own words, this message of yours speak volumes. You like to throw the stone and then hide.
Im not going to keep discussing this but next time keep it to yourself. Because no one here said anything about you (or anyone else)

You clearly haven't

Your mind is made up and I'd be foolish to continue this line of conversation, as it would be a waste of both yours and my time. I did try against my better judgement.
That's fine it's your opinion.
I see it differently and said so at the end of last season.
I'm 99% sure most fan's are voicing there opinion as they want to see us winning trophies.

Me personally would have picked Reguilon and used him to rotate.
I don't follow the youth side so wouldn't know.
But if I didn't rate a player or trust him I would pick any youth player to get the match day experience.

I had a lot of optimism at the start of the season that we could win a cup. The League Cup was always a long shot as you need some big teams to go out and at the moment I just want us to avoid a cricket score defeat over two legs. The EL was always more realistic but we have failed to beat the three hard teams we had to face in the group stage and you just get the feeling an average United side will send us packing.

Ange will not change unfortunately, I would like to see Dorrington start on Sunday being screened by a disciplined Yves and Bents with the full backs playing as full backs even if we only grind out a draw or a 1-0 win but this won’t be the case. 45 years of supporting the lilywhites and attending games across the country and this just feels such a low point.

I said nothing about the Ange comment.
Take a breather.

I wouldn't have even bothered giving Reggie a squad number personally, we've been trying to get rid of him for years now and not even Brentford wanted him.
We literally couldn't give him away so the only reason he's even sat on the bench is because there's nobody better.
That doesn't mean he deserves his spot because he doesn't, it just means that we're really scraping the bottom of the barrel for available players.

That's why I'm not having the "Ange should rotate" stuff because he literally has nothing to rotate.

Hope Ange turns it around but if not, I'd wanna go down the young coach route similar to Brighton.

@Ghost Hardware what you got? 😉
Im going to put my reply in a spoiler as it doesn’t seem Ange is going anywhere any time soon.

I think the underlying fact is that there just isn’t one clear and obvious stand out candidate. There are a number of interesting ones, some better than others, but not one that is hands down THE pick. All those you’d put at the very top of a hypothetical wish list won’t be coming here. Ether they would turn us down or we’d turn them down due to the RC as we did with Slot.

Irony is, if this was a few months ago, I’d have put a fairly large bet on Amorim being the overwhelming fan favourite if Ange left and things really aren’t going well for him thus far at Utd. That said we probably wouldn’t have paid his RC anyway.

For me there are a few I like, Iraola is a good choice although is probably out of reach, Hoeneß as Stuttgart, although struggling a little this season, has done a phenomenal job, Palladino has La Viola playing some excellent football after being quietly strong at Monza (he won’t leave so soon after joining tho), Will Still at Lens has a massive career ahead of him, he’s probably still a little to green but certainly a bit of a wunderkind (watch his tactical match break down below).

But within that, as I’ve already written about, probably Míchel would be my top choice at present as I believe he’d be able to take everything Ange has done and build from it. He’s a very intelligent, charismatic and flexible manager who is very good at developing youngsters whilst also getting the most out of older players. Has experience rebuilding a squad after it’s been cherry picked and is constantly looking at how to evolve. Is possession focused (last I checked Girona were 3rd for possession in the league with only behind RM and Barca) yet they will sit deep if necessary. They will adapt to their opponents but always look to be the ones pulling the strings. I do think there is a decent chance he ends up at City tho if Pep were to leave so a question if he’d be open to the idea.

Really there are probably a 8/9/10 managers i’d imagine we’d be looking at, some I like and some I do not. But I very much doubt we will go too far off the beaten track after Ange so looking for hidden gems is likely somewhat pointless.

If you watch the clip he never says he’s a genius, only that people who do things differently in any walk of life are mocked at first and called geniuses if they get results. Really nothing to jump on at all unless you have an agenda.

I caught about 45 minutes over two halves of the Girona game last night and they played what I’d call Tottenham football.

lots of passes and movement but what I liked about it they were in full control. Considering he had Bryan Gil, van der beek and blind in the team, three players we had all firmly written off long ago I was hugely impressed at how good they were.
