One thing he doesn’t have is a long time assistant. I think if he had one of those instead of surrounding himself with yes men coaches happy to get the jobs they’re been given he’d be a better manager. He needs someone to tell him when enough is enough with some of the tactics. Every top manager has one

He is not a top manager.
Hope he can be with us, though looking unlikely each game.

If the manager has to go then the board should follow him, deep problems at Tottenham Hotspur and lots of people should be carrying the can.

Big Ange in!
You is a brave bunny. But screw it… I’ll jump into that lonely, icy pond with ya!

I’m Ange in for the rest of the season, simply because our club is a punchline right now. We constantly change managers. Say we will back them but never truly do. Especially when times are hard. We can’t fix the real problem (Levy). We won’t have the means to consistently challenge state run or super rich owner run clubs until ENIC buggers off.

So, where does that leave us to shake our fists and demand change? With the one position that is most malleable. And vulnerable to supporter and media scrutiny. The ‘buck stops here’ position that is fair game to destabilize. The bedraggled crown that fans (for thirty years) constantly beg for change whenever we have a wobble. And Danny loves it. As it always gives him a scapegoat. A way out. And here are most fans once more letting the real culprit off the hook.

Im fucking sick of it. Seen this show too many times. It’s so predictable. It makes me wonder if it’s always the same set of fans who clamor for change. Who get the disenchantment ball rolling.

Think I am just getting too old for this shit. 💩

Werner stuff has tipped me over the edge I think.

Absolute madness to spend 18 months saying he'll never dig out a loan player, then dig out Werner when the rest of them were equally as crap.

Bissouma (and to a lesser extent Sarr) cost us a massive derby match on Sunday with unbelievably thick challenges in the box, and neither was singled out and Bissouma even started the next game. Digging out Werner is bullshit and it's a sign that this is the start of the end tbh.

He's also opened the gate for more journalists to single out players who underperform and force his hand to give more honest " assessments " in the future.

He can try and walk back his comments but if the poor performances continue, the media will expect him to be as blunt about the other senior pros who've been just as disappointing.

Would have been really weird to start talking about Bissouma when the question was about Werner though

I’ve thought long and hard about this and I’m Ange in too. A new manager without change at the very top or at least a change in approach from the top is pointless at this stage. A proper club would identify we need better options across the back line to at the very least put pressure on the likes of Porto and Udogie to perform more consistently. We need a proper player sitting at the base of midfield who wants a clean sheet as much as the defence do. We absolutely need a winger with pace Who can take on and beat a defender . Solanke who for me has been a revelation needs a back up on the bench who will come on a work as hard as he does.

this will cost and is difficult but if these moves aren’t made in the next 2 windows it doesn’t matter who the coach is. There have been halves where the style Ange wants is fantastic to watch and very in keeping with the attacking football all Spurs fans want to see.

the ball in in Levy’s court.

It’s not tactics, it’s luck. Pure randomness, at the pace we play there’s a variance around the accuracy of passes and shots.
Against Citeh, for example, the pass out to Deki for our first goal was overhit by about a yard. The defender wanted to let it run out, but Deki kept it in. We were lucky that the defender made that mistake. Then we were lucky that Haaland missed three good opportunities.
Generally, when we’ve got results this season, we’ve had all the good luck, and our opponents all the bad.
Dude, you’re better than this type of post. Seriously opining on “luck” being a key factor for when we win doesnt pass muster. I am all for thoughtful points about why Ange is so shit. But putting good performances and results down to luck is regressive, in my uninformed opinion.

As Wayne Gretzky said… “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.”

Ange may be crap at many a thing. According to many a people. But it’s not fair to attribute anything decent he has done to Lady Luck winking favorably in his direction. I feel that’s taking the anti Ange thing too far. He plays high risk football. When it clicks, it’s super fun. When it doesn’t we are bad and he is… (insert word or words that effectively amounts to some version of ‘naive, in over his head, stubborn’.)

A sacking now would be purely reactive - which is why I expect it at some point unless a turnaround happens sharpish. I also expect the new guy to have very little in common in terms of his footballing philosophy with the squad we have only just started assembling because the club itself clearly has no f'ing idea what it's doing or even wants in terms of the playing side/culture outside of "win some shit despite the board's best efforts".

We wait with baited breath...

Wouldn't it make more sense for the new manager to get a few of his own signings in January rather than be lumbered with the signings of a manager that's just been sacked.
I think this is hugely overplayed. All signings are for the club and always have been. There may be 1 or 2 specific for the manager but they inherit most players anyway. It's like when Porro signed and people complained we signed him and sacked the manager. We needed a right back, he's a right back and he's been very good under Ange. Besides many players outlast managers anyway.

And when it clicks it’s because suddenly our players are more skilful, or the tactics suddenly become effective? Or because in that game, that instant, the loose ball runs to one of our players rather than one of theirs?

Luck plays a huge part in all sports, but one can minimise the reliance on luck, or you can take an approach that makes you highly sensitive to it.

I’d like to know how you explain the volatility in our results.

Looking forward to Sunday to see if we play Udogie and Porro as attacking mids and get caught on the counter

Turn it the other way. Given that you think luck has played such a big part in our good results, then does the reverse apply?

Have we not had bad luck (generally) when we've lost and our opponents all the good?

If we were to get rid of Ange now, then there is clearly a lack of outstanding candidates who aren't already at other clubs/countries. When Conte went, there was Poch, Nagelsmann & Tuchel all out of a job (Bayern took the latter).

Hence, we'll have to limp on, as Potter, Allegri etc aren't inspiring. Ange won't change so there'll be the odd good result followed by bad ones. Also, when Conte was sacked, the fans started turning on Levy and he won't want that again. Whilst Ange is there, he has his buffer as most of the fans don't have the stomach to protest.

This will then give Levy time to find his next bunny, which he will dither over. After speaking to a number of managers, he will settle on his 5/6th choice (probably represented by CAA Base), with the top candidates ruled out because either he didn't want to relinquish football control, or pay the compensation.

We all know this story.
