Realistically to challenge for top 4 we need better players regardless of the system which includes 2 new fullbacks an experienced 6 and 2 new attackers, the rest are either too young, inconsistent or not good enough. At least there is a decent spine there...when fit!

Porro and Udogie are both good enough, we just need good rotation options behind them. We do need an experienced DM and a right sided attacker as a priority and ideally a quick left sided CB as cover for VDV.

Or losing to Ipswich, Bournemouth etc?
Yeah exactly. Clearly tactics work sometimes. Question is why only sometimes really. Obviously I know things aren’t good. But if a faulty system can be fixed it’s often better to do that than to chuck it all out.

My argument revolves around the amount of injuries we keep on picking up, hence there being another internal investigation.

The situation handled around Romero/VDV, was poor to say the least & i’m amazed Porro hasn’t picked up an injury yet.

What was the point of Spence signing a new contract then …
Are we going to pretend that Porro has been in amazing form & deserves to start every single game ?
Do you believe Reguilon should be rotating with Udogie? He has way more experience than Spence has.

Of all managers? Who else? Conte, who was acting like a spoilt brat, so he'd get fired and get the money he wanted, while playing boring football? Mourinho, who was practically the same? Pochettino, who everyone could see was at the end of the road with this team? Redknapp, who wanted the England job?

Or Postecoglou, who everyone can see wants to build something here, and wants to be here? Who plays great football?
Great football is not giving up bucket load of chances every game to bang average teams. Poch's team on the other hand did play great football whilst being solid at the back. The only time Ange's football looked good was when we were able to control games in the first 10 games last season, but that ship has sailed.

I'm willing to put Porro and Udogie's struggles this season down to them being absolutely run into the ground with no rotation options/competition, but what concerns me the most is out of those you've listed, there's only three (Vicario, Bentancur and Solanke) that I'd confidently bet on still being at Tottenham next season.

Did I imagine us scoring four at the Etihad or vs Villa, or absolutely hammering United? We’ve had some brilliant performances this year, alongside some shockers.

yeah definitely. I’d love it if he changed his tactics but he doesn’t look like he will. We are so easy to play through. If he doesn’t change it then I just can’t see us picking up any wins unless we get lucky. Teams know how to play against us, Rangers players said so after the game for example.

The one thing that might keep him in his job is who actually sacks him? Was he Munn’s appointment? If so, what happens there with him. Is Paratici in Levy’s ear offering up solutions? I’m sure it is a mess like usual behind the scenes, we’ll find out if we keep losing though for sure.

Hopefully Ange adapts and we can stick with him but I’m sceptical.

United have sacked their manager, city have one win in 10 and villa have just ended a run of no wins in 8

No. Obviously it has worked smoothly on occasion this season too.

Increasingly clear (if it wasn’t already) that it’s the quality of the bench and the squad more generally that is more important than the quality of the first 11. Ange’s system relies entirely on rotation both within and between games. Injuries are felt much more keenly and have more fundamental effects as the remaining players get fatigued so quickly. We’ve generally looked very impressive on the few games where he’s had quality options to bring off the bench.

The man needs a bigger squad and if the club aren’t willing or able to provide it then they need to move him on.

It’s not tactics, it’s luck. Pure randomness, at the pace we play there’s a variance around the accuracy of passes and shots.
Against Citeh, for example, the pass out to Deki for our first goal was overhit by about a yard. The defender wanted to let it run out, but Deki kept it in. We were lucky that the defender made that mistake. Then we were lucky that Haaland missed three good opportunities.
Generally, when we’ve got results this season, we’ve had all the good luck, and our opponents all the bad.

Yeah. I don’t want to be too harsh, and credit where credit is due, we played really well in those matches. But the wins against the Manchester clubs probably made us look better than we are right now.

You can only beat what’s in front of you but those two clubs have been in disarray and they didn’t make it into a battle, so it suited us. They look like huge wins on paper but the context is important too.

Probably a similar comparison in some ways is Ipswich beating us at our place. A huge win for Ipswich, but not that surprising from our perspective.

To me this says that the bones are good. Are we close to being a finished product or even close to competing? God no.

But this is exactly the person I want to represent the club. I go back again to arsenal finishing 8th twice & having all their fans screaming for Arteta out, but they stuck with him & now are reaping the rewards. The squad has massive issues, but he should be given ample amount of time to fix it & mould it. Like every coach who has been successful in the league has done. Just my opinion
