Think we are in for a very rough end to the year with our fixtures. Only having Dragusin available to play CB in all those games is really going to screw us.

More defeats and the pressure starts to mount, fans will get angry and levy more likely to cave and give Ange the boot.

Yes we could have put a better squad together but I think we’ve been seriously unlucky two seasons running with injuries.

If the news about Romero and vdv is true we'll be in a relegation battle by January on one of the worst runs of results in the club's history
Not that I think it’ll get that bad, if it does though I see Levy/the board doing something drastic because that will affect bums on seats.

Yeah it'll be a very tough period but we SHOULD have players back mid January and the club surely has to recognise how thin they've left it and bring in 2 players.

I don't think relagation will be realistic. We would only need 15 points or so and the bottom 3 can't win for shit.

But bigger ambitions are certainly going to be a struggle

Genuinely actually concerned this injury crisis could lead to a potential relegation struggle this season.

I know how ridiculous that sounds but we are 11 points ahead of the bottom 3 and for the next 5 games we will be missing:

Vicario, Romero, VDV, Davies, Bentancur, Odobert, Moore and Richarlison.

After that and with the assumption that none of them who are injured will be back until start of Feb at the earliest then that totals 9 league games. This also doesn’t take into account that we are running these guys into the ground so more injuries are likely to occur.

Those 9 games come against:
Southampton (a)
Liverpool (h)
Forest (a)
Wolves (h)
Newcastle (h)
Arsenal (a)
Everton (a)
Leicester (h)
Brentford (a)

Really with Drag and Gray at CB I think you are looking at somewhere between 7-9 points from this games which would take us to 29 points from 24 games.

In my opinion if we do that then we will be 15th/16th in the league at that point.

Yeah, fuck that. Let’s win em all!

Well that’s the question isn’t it? Seems a lot are saying that the injuries are due to the type of training and way we play.

9 points I reckon, no chance of us being within 20 points of the bottom 3.

This injury situation has almost got to the point where you quit without saving and start again as you can’t quite believe how bad it’s got.

It’s that bad that if he is sacked then it might be even harder to get a new bloke to take the job if he thinks he’s on a hiding to nothing.

How many CBs should we have? Everyone wanted Davies upgraded and if we did that it still doesn’t change the fact we have 3 out of 4 CBs injured.

Someone more informed about his time abroad will know but I don't get how, if it was a playstyle thing contributing to the injuries, that it is so bad now, considering he's working with top level athletes in state of the art training facilities: both better than anywhere he's been before. Just doesn't make a lot of sense. Surely if his style was to blame it'd have been discovered a lot earlier in his career?
Apparently he had similar issues in his third season in Japan after his team, who won the title the year before, got into the Asian cup the following year and the extra games meant they picked up more injuries and I also believe there were similar issues at Celtic (though not as bad I don’t think)

I’m not an expert on his career though so I’m sure someone more knowledgable than me can say if that’s BS or not.

2 in feels like the bare minimum at this point. Simply have to get a striker and CB those two cannot wait in any capacity.

Rushing back Romero and Van de Ven didn't work out so great eh?
I don't think we "rushed" them back at all. Romero has picked up a completely different injury to the one he was originally out for and VdV has been training and seemed fit/happy. Ange even said the plan was to only give him 60 mins, but Romero getting injured changed that.

Players want to play, so I get that they may suggest they are ready, when in reality they may not be, but there is no way Ange and the medical team are risking long term injuries. Ultimately they made a risk assessment, got unlucky with Romero and struck out with VdV. These things happen.

Scum managing with a makeshift back four without a high line; I wonder if Walker would comeback in January; Glasgow trip is costing £500+ and I’d like to see Ange play a young CB and Gray in CDM please …….

Well, the question is, does Ange's system , honed in 12 team leagues, bear any responsibility for the number of injuries ?

Personally I think there is a connection.

Think I would be more relaxed about the season if the cup quarter final was 19th of Jan rather than this month.

That's the real frustrating one for me . Can't see how we're not beaten there

Thankfully Man Utd are still not in a great space either.
