If we got rid of ange, then who is out there?

The only candidates i can think of are:

Unemployed:

Xavi - would he adapt, doesnt know the PL

In work:

Iraola - doing well at bournemouth, bit would need time and patience.

Marco Silva - struggled at everton, but doing a good job at fulham. Csn he step up?

Mckenna - Jurys out. They have struggled to see out games at this level, imo

Are any of these going to improve us?

we'll be in the championship if he gets another season, surely now everyone can see his style doesn't work in the premier league, he has to go and the sooner the better
Maybe that's what's needed! I hope not.... But you prefer our current model/approach, that's been soooooo successful under ENIC?? But then again it's this type of fan that Levy depends on..... so fearful relegation, desperate the kudos of being a premier league team plays into Levy's accounting spreadsheet....

Sorry for deviating, but the Ange in out debate, has direct correlation as he's the current stooge in the hot seat...

Levy has set Spurs up to SUCCED WITHOUT SUCESS!...... No European football? No problem a few more NFL games? Out of cups early doors.... let's not stress get few more concerts in the calendar.

Why would it be a bigger gamble to keep him ? (Genuine question)

Not like we normally win anything. Unless you think we're getting relegated under him?

No, with him in charge I can't see relegation.

However with the squad we have, I would like to think we would have a chance in the carabo cup, Europa league and the league being so tight from 4th place down a chance of European qualification.

With Ange in charge, I do not see either of the above happening, I actually see more injuries, the last 2-3 months of this season is going to be an even bigger challenge and I expect a major drop off in terms of fitness due to the demands.

I would rather someone come in now, have the rest of the season to make assessments of the squad before the summer window as well as the opportunity to actually have a chance in the said competitions that I mentioned.

admit i have given up on Ange now.

I think a lot of fans were curious about the style he offers, and wanted it to work for Spurs (with our history of attacking football and flair it would have been just perfect). It can certainly look good at it’s best, but on the whole this is just not working in the PL.

I’ve been Levy out for quite some time and would love more heat on him, but I’m not sure I see the point in sticking with Ange much longer. We know what we have with Levy, he’s not changing, so a more flexible all-round manager should be the next step.

Id be amazed if we are not discussing potential replacements now.

Doesnt mean Ange is gone, but theyll be preparing for the possibility.

But our games have been peppered with these kind of silly individual errors since well before Mourinho’s time here. From Serge Aurier “giving away a shit penalty” to Pape Sarr accidentally kicking someone in the last minute against Southampton under Conte.

So I disagree that these errors are being forced onto the players by the system. Our players have been at it for years.
Thing is players like Sarr are still young. So it has to be deep rooted within the club for these players to make these sort of mistakes. It's like the senior players are not there to guide the younger ones. It's almost ironic that Bissouma also have away a penalty first because he's the sort of player Sarr would learn from. Almost copying what his mentor did. This is my issue with signing young players to develop. The older ones are a bad example around them.

Is it true Levy has spent 600m last 3 seasons? Was just said on TS but they are known for lying
Quick look on transfermarkt and that is correct 600m euros. Nearly half of that coming in Ange’s first season where we spent 272.10 (though that does include the fees for Porro and Deki who were Conte signings)

Surely there comes a point where you work out it isn't about luck at all good or bad?

The amount of times yesterday the ball was half cleared in our box or deflected through safely it's the law of averages it eventually falls to the opposition and they capitalise on it. I used to laugh when folks on here would go on and on about how Lampard scoring so many goals was luck due to deflections etc. Fact is when you constantly get into the right positions, have the right technique, and take enough shots on target through crowded 6 yard boxes you realise it's got fuck all to do with luck. You are just choosing to ignore everything but the deflected goals themselves.

Being at the game live yesterday, one of the big problems was the ease they played through our midfield. Bissouma and Sarr were destroyed.

The more possession you lose, the more chance for silly mistakes.

They were run ragged, and no surprise it was those two who gave away the pens.

We should be doing this anyway. Keeping tabs on other managers who fit our philosophy. Brighton do it so well. When one leaves another comes in no problem. Instead we spend months searching for a manager because we have no succession planning.

I’m sure you and others will now get your wish.

If SC is a barometer for fan sentiment, it would appear the ‘ange out’ folks are very much in the majority. And we all know what happens once Daniel feels a plurality of supporters don’t like the coach. He foists them on their petard with almost zero planning. Because our chairman’s biggest gripe is taking the blame. So he makes a distraction.

I don’t doubt for a second that those who want Ange gone will get their wish. And at this rate it will be before Feb.

Yay.

I hope you're wrong. Wanting the manager gone is effectively writing off the season. We're not poaching any top manager to leave their current jobs mid season so we would likely be stuck with Mason in charge.

The sensible thing would be to allow Ange to play out the season and review things in the summer.

very quiet from @spursofficial today
Definitely by design. They’ll not have been thanking Sky for putting Levy under the magnifying glass. Ordinarily the manager would soak up the punches as the face of the loss but Carragher and co laying the blame at the feet of Levy will have refocused a lot of fans’ attention. They’ll want to be under the radar until the news cycle refreshes - probably if someone gets sacked after West-Ham vs Wolves.

Just been listening to that, interesting that there seemed a split on Ange that is very similar to here. Surprised to hear so many pro levy supporters

Ange seems to be a guy who has blind faith in the theory of his tactics. Also I don't really think he has a real "tactic". Its just a particular way to setup a team without taking the opposition strengths and weaknesses into consideration
