I agree with your post underneath this one but I don't agree with the second half of this one at all.
It's the Spurs way and has been since Bill Nic and if you don't like that sort of thing, you're supporting the wrong club.

It's about going out there and winning in style, not about boring the opposition (and fans) to death.
That's supposed to be the DNA of this club.
Of course he didn't mean that he's happy to entertain and lose but football should be enjoyable for the fans, it's our escape from life and Ange seems very big on that sort of thing.

Personally, I enjoyed yesterday's game and a draw isn't a bad result in the grand scheme of things.

It’s one thing playing well, being pretty on the eye and winning in style but sacrificing winning positions or not seeing out a game for a valuable point because we must be ‘entertaining’ is madness. On this basis it’s no wonder we haven’t won anything for decades and that won’t be changing any time soon if we carry on like we are.

I like any other fan love to see us dominate the opposition and put them to the sword but this isn’t possible week in week out. Only the very best sides can do this and the gulf in class between their first XI/squads and the current Spurs squad is huge.

As this season has shown watching Spurs is like playing Russian roulette, we’re either:

Dominant/ruthless E.g. Everton, Man Utd, Man City

Don’t turn up E.g. Coventry (very lucky), Palace, Ipswich

Throw points away E.g. Leicester, Brighton, Newcastle, Roma

We should have easily beaten Leicester, a draw never mind a defeat against Brighton would have been disappointing and we were beaten by Newcastle despite dominating the game. Whereas against the cannon fodder - Palace and Ipswich will didn’t bother turning up.

It’s not a case of ‘what if’, but had we acted and played like a big club instead of ‘entertainers’ who don’t always entertain, then we would have been sat comfortably in the top 3 and clear of the chasing pack.

Come the end of the season, I would rather see us turn over the teams we can, secure at least a point in tough/tighter games instead of it being all or nothing. This should see us finish in the top 5, possibly top 4 but carry on as we are, throwing valuable points away then being content with finishing anywhere from 7th to 10th will be deemed as a failure regardless of how ‘entertaining’ we were.

It's the CL Final, we are 2-1 up and the 4th official signals 5 minutes of added time - do you want Ange to play entertaining expansive football or do you want him to be pragmatic?

Who got us into this position? I trust Ange to do whatever he thinks is right in that moment.

Yes, it would be madness, and it's not what Ange is doing.

You have no idea if this would be the case or not.

It's not all or nothing. Don't worry, mate, one day you'll get it. And if you listen to Ange's pressers and interviews, which are as far from fluff as you'll get from a manager facing the media, that might just speed up the process.

Whatever keeps us as far from sitting in our own half facing cross after cross after cross as possible, for me

I have been enormously skeptical of Ange and his football for a while, and vocally so. But the Man City game convinced me of where we are and what we're doing.

Yeah, we're up and down depending on the opposition. But as a neutral mate was telling me last Friday, he looks forward to seeing us on the telly, because our games are so entertaining.

We aren't trying to bore the other team to death, we're simply trying to play football, and win with a flourish. All the Bill Nick hallmarks.

So we drew against roma, we'll probably do something mad against Fulham. But when we know we can put 4 past Man City, Villa, Man Utd etc... I just feel that this is all going to be worth it.

So that's it... I'm in.

Yep. And to attack is, to a large extent, to ‘defend’. It’s the low block we have to overcome with a dribbler, set piece specialist, and a couple of ready made first teamers in the mix

I’m still waiting for him to say **** in a press conference for me to be all in.

it's the cl last 16, you're 1-0 down and going out with 10 minutes to go - do you want conte to go for it or bring on davinson sanchez?

It’s two polar opposite scenario’s.

1) Winning with a few mins to go = keep it tight and play on the counter

2) Trailing with not long to go, you take a risk and go for it

And that's all with a few important pieces to the puzzle still missing. It can be frustrating at times but it's also not the finished product. Really just have to hope that we add sufficiently and don't try to get by on the cheap.

As a neutral, it reminds me about the teams I enjoy watching… such as Brighton. They are all fun and entertaining matches. I think we are cut from a similar cloth, as far as other fans are concerned.

Except Brighton are ahead of us in the table with a fraction of the money.

Fraction, my arse. They spent about 200m in the summer.
And in all the other transfer windows? We're the 8th or 10th richest club in the world. They're about 29th, above us in the league and perhaps not that different to us in terms of ability level and consistency of performance. But perhaps we should all lower our expectations...again!

so what they’re also above Man City, it’s 13 games in it means absolutely nothing

Tbf Brighton have had so much money pumped in by their owner. Us.. not so much.

7 points between 2nd and 12th and 2nd being Brighton says anything can happen between now and the end of the season. Table can be turned upside down in 3 games. Here’s hoping for a win tomorrow and more consistency into new year. Ange isn’t gonna bottle his style anytime so why don’t we get behind the team and go for CL qualification. Just a few astute signings in the TW can give us more strength and solidity when needed.
