The more time goes on the more I respect Pochettino. Yes he had a better team but fuck me did he fight against the tide.
Genuine question: why does it take more time for you to appreciate Poch?

I find it bizarre that Spurs fans didn't realize this in real time and turned on him so easily. The fans are like the team. Flaky as fuck. And always join in with Levys thinking to retrofit some bullshit excuse to why it's the manager that's failing.

That better team was built by Poch. His points tallies, cup semis and finals, quality of footy, all happened at Spurs despite Levy and the hapless directors we have that undermine every manager that comes through.

Few interesting bits in this. Pleat talking about the Chelsea game at the hour mark, doesn't seem to think a lot of the high line we play and Anges tactics

Listening to Pleaty makes me remember why I loved footy in the first place, and how far removed it is now from when I was a kid.

Back Ange, Sack Levy.

Let's not turn our frustrations against yet another manager, let's point them at the root of the problem for once and not in a half-hearted manner.

Even if you don't believe that Ange is the man to lead us to glory, this constant churn has got to stop, so sing his name while waving a "Levy Out" sign.

We need a chairman and board with some fucking ambition, willing to push us forward on the pitch, not just the balance sheet.

We've got to make Levy realise that in our eyes, the buck stops with him, we cannot let him have the escape hatch of sacking another bloody manager.

💯 and if Poch had been given proper signings and squad depth we’d probably have won something, he did an absolutely outstanding job.

It will depend on the level of noise against Levy. If the heat is on him they will sign one senior player to deflect the heat. He is a master of doing enough to deflect attention as he has done it successfully so often.
He knows fans won't protest properly so all he does is throw the odd crumb and that generally tends to be enough.
I personally don't believe Ange is the one but until we get rid of enic no one will be the one. I would love for fans to start singing anti Levy songs again and also singing Ange songs to make it abundantly clear what we think about Levy and that we don't blame Ange for where we are (even though he has to take a good bit of responsibility for it).

I really hope if results do take a dive that this happens and enough of our fans realise where the problem lies.

That would be epic if whilst we languished in 14th, the whole stadium sang Ange’s name whilst then signing we want Levy out. Doubt it’ll happen but it is what should happen if such a scenario were to arise.

Levy was so lucky he struck gold with Poch.

I dread to think where we would be now if we hired someone like Frank de Boer back in 2014.

I'm sick of thinking that now, it's always the next window and it's never happened.
My patience has gone, as has any hope that Levy is ever going to push us any further than the bare minimum.

I was actually quite happy with the business we did over the summer but even I thought we left ourselves one or two senior players short to properly compete.

By the time the youngsters are good enough to depend on, the seniors will be past it and we start the cycle again.

So for me, it's thank for what you've done Daniel but it's past time to go now.

I loved him at the time, didn’t want him sacked. Thought he did a great job. Now I think he was a genius in light of everyone from Jose to Conte to now Ange struggling. The Spurs fans who turned on him where mostly not in the stadium, most of it was social media.

With the usual "it's hard to buy in Jan but next summer, don't you worry. Oh boy will there be blockbuster signings galore in the summer. Get ready to have your socks blown off by the sheer awesomeness. Just got to get everything lined up." hints/suggestions via the press.

Data approach is cheap and that's why Levy likes it, it works for the Brightons of the world but we should be aiming higher. The thing people often forget about Moneyball, as great a story as it is, is that the Oakland Athletics never actually won anything.

We seriously failed in the summer, started with talk of Isak and Neto and ended with Odobert and Solanke. Whatever you think about Ange, can you honestly tell me any of our players get into the top teams as a starter? Maybe VDV but that's probably it for me. We have a squad of decent players but no real game changers.

Obviously neither do Ipswich or Crystal Palace's players and that's definitely a problem, but I think Ange's biggest issue is that he's trying to play winning football with losers. He needs to start realising that some of this lot need hooking, even if the only alternatives are young players.

No one turned on him easily. It took a calendar year of relegation form and himself giving up.

So basically we have to wait until Levy/ENIC sell up before we can harbour any real hopes of meaningful sustained progression....

Yes stick with Ange, but waiting for that to happen is seriously depressing.

I mean we all know its the bigger overriding issue, and there's fuck all we can do about it in reality.

Being a Tottenham fan - stuck in this warped dimension.

Ah well, even if we manage to beat City Im not getting excited anymore, or daring to dream.

Thats what this ownership has done and its sad for the real fans.

I know the Levy conversation is an important one but if we beat Ipswich his name isn’t being brought up and the current squad that Levy had helped put together should beat Ipswich, Palace and Leicester. I don’t think he’s to blame for our current issues.

He got lucky like does most of the time with his appointments.

Wanted Van Gaal, then De Boer. Fortunately ended up with Poch.
