I think part of the problem Is that he doesn’t really have a confidante on the touch line who can help him with the decisions and shake him out of this weird inertia. He always seems so isolated.

Jason Tindall says hi :ROFLMAO:

Oh really will I?

I will tell you now, this manager will win us nothing. A year in and we are inconsistent and still as weak mentally. We will no doubt play some good football as we did against Utd, but what’s the point if you can’t manage a game when you’re 2-0 up and just watch the team capitulate with you’re hand in your pockets.

Let’s see how long it’ll take to change you’re mind..
After the last 20 years, that's a bold claim, what with us winning at least 2 pots a season!!!!

Just have to face reality that we’ll always be an inconsistent team.
Let’s just pray for a huge slice of luck in the cups.
As of right now I don’t trust Ange to change his ways.

Really honest interview

“His most disappointing defeat since he’s been here”

“We didn’t compete 2nd half, nothing to do with tactics”

Exactly what the Brighton manager said - they started to compete and won their individual battles…
That does happen in football where momentum swings and as individuals and as a team you just can't wrestle it back.

Usually subs or a change in tactics to mix it up or experienced heads are needed, we don't have any of those so no surprise sometimes we can't stem the tide at times when it swings against us.

Frustrating for sure but hopefully something we can work on.

He's brave in that case.

Because the long term he may not get.
I think it's a balancing act - it worked in Hungary and didn't today but maybe (grasping at straws quite possibly) it'll be a real moment for at least the younger players.

This "he's just standing there with his hands in his pockets doing nothing!" complaint is the most fucking cleanshirt-grasping-at-straws argument I've ever read. Have you ever seen Carlo Ancelotti? Hardly a jackrabbit, is he?
But Ancelotti changes things up as soon as things start to go awry. Ange doesn't.

We need a Roy Keane type player for decades (as much as I disliked him at times) someone who is very vocal and digs in and can get nasty if need be, a leader on the pitch. It really is amazing how Spurs soft touch exists through so many changes of mangers and players.
Need any of our leaders to actually fucking lead, because either by example or by temperament none of them are consistent enough. Maddison and Cuti were great last week when things were going well but when the chips were down tonight they vanished.

Two weeks off now, too. No game on Thursday to get things back on track.

Checked ahead, we have Ipswich at home before the next IB…

Ange has changed things multiple times this season. And regardless, their ability as a manager has absolutely nothing to do with their touchline demeanor.
Absolutely, remember Conte's antics on the sideline? ConteCam and all that bollocks?

Rewatching their 2nd goal, we backed off them so far that their CB carried the ball nearly the whole way to the half-way line. He then had an easy open pass straight down the wing to their wide man already behind our midfield. Unchallenged he plays the ball into Mitoma. The CB's were too far on the back foot to challenge him and Bentacur got no where near him. The less said about the following tackling the better.

Anyway, point being our press fell to pieces after being highly effective the previous half. Ange needs to figure out why.

We’ve had this in the past; I agree he’s more stubborn as a manager and very much asks his current 11 to fix the mess they have made. We said the same about Poch. We said the same about Conte. I’m sure Everton fans will have said the same about Ancelotti.

Course, the spotlight on this is a lot more intense when you’ve shelved a 2-0 lead to 3-2 in 25 minutes, but it’s a fairly common complaint from fans.

Yes he's changed things multiple times. But imo usually too late.

I said at start of the season that Ange style and approach is dependent on scoring 2-4 a game to achieve any sort of result, occasionally that will result in comfortable enough results if the opposition don’t take the chances we give up. The downside was witnessed in dramatic fashion today. 70% on the players, as they just lost all of their individual battles for most of the 2nd half, but if Ange won’t adjust his approach he must change personnel in key moments. If he did that at 2-1 and we still lose, then it would have been a wake up call for the squad, less so the manager. How the group react to this will be fascinating, as really first time In his reign we’ve lost in such a way without any mitigating circumstances. We went in with confidence, had all the momentum at HT yet still lost.

with West Ham, palace, villa and Ipswich next in the league there really won’t be a better chance to react and put the season back on track.

Huge October and November awaits Ange, I’m still hopeful we can move past this result and pick up significant points from next 4 games
