I’ve been a supporter (and on here) to know the players that aren’t playing are always the answer, until they do.
you’re avoiding the point which is why not take a risk of a promising junior when the game has already got away from us?

It's just so frustrating where he doesn't adapt to be more conservative with subs / tactics during the game when we're winning

Absolutely daft to not have some semblance of a plan B. This whole "its who we are mate" schtick gets tiring quick when results aren't going our way.

We needed to manage the game from 0-2/HT but just absolutely capitulated.

Hopefully doesn't knock confidence too much and Ange has shown recently tweaks to the system that have no doubt made us better so heres hoping.

Because of Mikey (for example, not picking on him) loses the ball a few more times and we concede another couple, what does that do for his development?

We’re not exactly short of youngsters on the pitch are we?

STOP BLAMING ANGE
Todays defeat had nothing to do with Ange imo it was a player issue not an Ange issue. The Brighton players just interviewed on TV just said that it wasn’t about tactics they just decided to really fight for it and they won it.
We thought the game was over and we were punished. That’s down to the complacency on the pitch not in the dugout. Brighton changed NOTHING tactically to win the game their attitude was better than ours 2nd half simple as that.

Okay…..so there are some things to iron out here.
Some fans want a full-strength team each game…..and others like to see rotation.
If we play the game the way Ange wants to….then we need to rotate players regularly.
The speed we play at is unsustainable for 3 games a week for most players.

Udgoie was the perfect example today. Implicated in all three of their goals and he was clearly a yard off the pace.
Why Ange didn’t bring on Spence (unless he was carrying an injury) was really beyond me.

If any of our players are a yard off the pace…..our pressing game and our flow moving forward falters.
I really LOVE our style of play. It’s breathtaking. What entertainment!! Beautiful to watch…and I don’t want to give it up.
However, Ange has to become far more savvy with how he rotates players and brings on earlier substitutes.

And Daniel Levy needs to bloody well open his wallet wider…..because he’s left Ange in that position where the style of football is incredible…..yet not quite sustainable with the squad quality we’ve got.
In a season’s time…..with 3 more quality additions and the youngsters with a season’s experience, then yes….we’re well placed.
But dear god, I really really hope Ange makes better (and earlier) substitutions than he did today. Sarr and Bissouma didn’t turn the game our way in the slightest.

Our pressing game collapsed in the second half…..and consequently we gave them time on the ball.
They got one goal, lifted their spirits, lifted the crowd, got a second goal…..and their confidence was set.
All momentum was with Brighton.
That’s when Ange needed to make a change. And get some instructions on!!

A really disappointing afternoon. But Brighton are good on their patch. They were always going to come back at some stage.

We’re growing. We’re learning.
But jeez…..Ange (I love you man) but you‘ve got to keep adapting yourself.
If we can’t sustain that high tempo game for 90 minutes - have some kind of call ‘Geronimo‘ when the team drops deeper to defend for a period of 10 minutes to hold a game.
The team can catch their breathe, re-evaluate on the pitch, maybe make a substitution, and get some instructions on the pitch.
And then another call…..to go full-speed again ‘Gonzales’
That way there isn’t a relentless pace all 90 minutes.

I know that won’t always work out, practically.
But having two speeds means the players can differentiate between the two….and in comparison it’s easier to know when you’re faltering in one of those speeds.

Trying to go 100 mph for a full 90 is naive in the Premier League.
But I would love us to try it for 70-75 and have a Plan B for the rest. And for a rest.

Come on Ange. You’re our man, for sure.
Please find a way to make our style of play more sustainable for 90+ minutes.

This is basically what we've been like since he joined. Inconsistent, rather naive and quite easy for good managers to work out.

Think this is basically how things will continue to be with him, nothing has really changed in a season so expecting substantial change going forward is a bit hopeful.

Those children did ok Thursday

Against a much lower level of opposition. Moore didn’t really impact the game when he came on. That wouldn’t have been any different ten minutes or twenty minutes earlier. People need to realise that he’s not always going to be able to make a difference yet. It’s not fair to expect him to.

He had enough on the bench and with all his experience, to not not be able to influence that 2nd half at 1-2 is a worry..

I don’t think we did. I don’t think the changes made really changes much aside from adding fresher legs. Our problem second half was more down to us not being as energetic as we were in the first half, Brighton were just quicker to the ball than us.

So we still need to play the same way going gung-ho for a third despite being 2-0 up?
That really wasn’t the issue this afternoon.

He is no different than other managers we have had, he is just more of an all out go for it manager, others have been just as stubborn but more defensive. We are not winning the league under Levy anyway, unless there is some kind of miracle.

We presently are going to be involved in some every entertaining and end to end games, some of which we are going to lose.

The funniest thing is he brought on the subs we needed at 2-0 when we were 3-2 down.

t's simple to just manage a game when you're winning away from home. Can't even do that.

Love this manager but just can't get my head round why he doesn't do basic in game management.

We all knew this would be an up and down season but nobody wants the downs do they?

Pretty sure that if I go into the player threads it’ll be about players who were world class last week now not being good enough.

It was a poor second half against a side many expected to be in the mix for Top 6 (with us) at the start of the season.

It wasn’t great, but it’s really not that bad.
Agree, but I'm surprised the the lows are down to Ange's lack of game awareness, he doesn't seem to want to be reactive when the momentum shifts... I expect highs and lows with this process, just massively shocked at why/how our lows play out...

I'm starting to get fed up of smaller Clubs scoring loads of goals against us.

Its fucking embarrassing that their fans go home thinking they've got the new Ronaldinho on the wing when really it's just our manager cant organise a half decent defensive shape.

We were shite for whole 2nd half and he waited until 75th min to try make a sub which took another 3 minutes to actually happen.
This one is on him as much as our players.

He will have learned about the players from that 2nd half but does he have enough self awareness to learn from it himself

Sorry, but a manager needs to react when his players are not performing.

Ange didn't react to anything happening in front of him.

The first goal is avoidable, the second goal was coming from the moment the first went in. He did nothing to give the team a chance to wrestle control or take the sting out of Brightons head of steam.

We all lambast Arsenal for their shithousing, and I don't want us to go to the level they do, but we need to do something to stem the flow but he never does. A sub or 2 when we are at 2-2 instead of waiting until near 10 minutes after we go behind might have helped us to get at least a point today, if not all 3.

Is he really good enough to be managing us? Serious question. He has no game plan at all.
No game plan at all? lmao, can we all please laugh react this post to get to front page so the whole site can see this. Might be the dumbest thing ive read on this site ever. You can say you think his game plan is bad, but no game plan at all.

For decades we have had loads of games where we are the gift that keeps giving. It is nothing new to see us go off the rails. I agree it’s irritating but it’s nothing new.
