Criticism and progress after these five wins, does it feel like good times now?

What's the date? I reckon it was 14 days ago where it didn't feel like that (good times), it's just the way football is. There's a fine line of people's perception of how you're going and that's why that can't be your guide. That doesn't mean you ignore everything because there's some astute observations as to how you're going and what some people see is important to us, but ultimately you have to rely on something else to where the spotlight is.

It didn't feel like long ago when people were questioning everything, nothing's changed 14 days later except the results.

It's not going to be a smooth road. We're not at the stage as a team where things click all the time. We will still suffer, that's important, otherwise you don't know how you'll handle it. We've handled it well.

Last year - Hurzeler came to visit Spurs, just to observe the set-up, and asked Ange and the staff a load of questions. Ange answered a couple of questions about that - impressed that Hurzeler was asking those questions, and trying to learn more about the craft at a young age.

Would you of let Hurzeler in to the training ground if you knew he was to become a Premier League manager?

"Yes, mate, I would've done. There's nothing wrong with being a nice person, if someone knocks on your door and wants a cuppa, let them in your house mate. He's not going to take your furniture or steal your cutlery. I would let him in mate."

I'm so glad he's our manager.

He's just a good human being and that counts for a lot. When you compare him to certain other managers, I don't need to name names, we really are very lucky to have him leading our club.

I didn't know where to put this... article about our pace, style and team... mostly Van de Ven of course. But also focus on how Ange's team is fast and intense.

He's only really been given these youngsters to work with by the board so great to see him blooding them in an important(ish) game.
I'm sure you've not always been as miserable about the club as you seem to be lately?
For all we know, Ange and the recruitment team looked at the talented youth we had and decided that it was better to work with them this season, than to buy players that they would soon be replacing?

The reason that Moore signed his new contract and that Bergvall chose us over Barca is because we told them they'd play, so I really don't think Ange has been forced into playing them by "the board", he's playing them because they're good enough.

Presser for Brighton game

He's much more confident (in front of the press) these days, no coughing and a lot calmer. I actually think with his TV duties over the summer has helped him relax and not worry too much.

He speaks (as he always has) so well, his answers are so crisp and straight to the point.

When he talks you lean in and listen, not like Poch where you lean in and try to work out what the hell he is going on about or Conte with his bitterness etc..

It's hard to see a weakness, the way he presents himself, the football he plays, development of youth (this season), the whole package.

While we'd better not get too high, just yet, we can now see everything from Vic clearly being braver to Maddison playing give and go with Kulu - he's actively dealing with the issues and it's so fkin encouraging to see.

Some revenge to exact at the Amex on Sunday- give it to em Ange!

So great to see us go on this run recently. It's been a hard group of fixtures to open up the season with and to put a run of 5 wins together will really help to give the players (and fans) something to get behind. It'll give those that haven't fully bought in to Ange a little more confidence that they should trust what he is doing. It needs more time, of course and we will still encounter some bad results, but we must remain resolute and stick with it. I've never felt so confident that success is just around the corner.

Someone mentioned in one of the other topics the other day that we've played better in our last 2 games than the first 10 last season and I totally agree with that.

Good times, they are-a-comin'!

I am totally in agreement but..............First game he loses and we'll hear the naysayers out in force.

The only thing I would like when we rotate in such a way is a Maddison or Kulusevski figure present, whether it's just one of them or someone who would come in who's more in that mould. I don't think Bergvall is that player, and that's just because of his skill set, not down to form anything.

I quite liked the game plan yesterday if I'm honest and I don't mind coming up short as much if it means the likes of Lankshear and Moore are starting and getting solid minutes and experience. Johnson, Maddison and Kulusevski all came on with a decent chunk of the game left to either rescue the situation or have us see out the game more comfortably. I do hope we go stronger in the slightly tougher games though.

So people can't criticise whether we win or lose? It seems to me to be almost cult-like on here at times where criticism will not be tolerated and everyone must be relentlessly positive at all times.

I wonder, and this is not a criticism merely a thought, if his usual second season uptick is as much about him learning and finding out about his squad and his system as it is the players?

The system itself seems to have been bedded in well enough last season but now we're seeing tweaks from Ange etc.

Either way, if we can get a win against Brighton we'll have set ourselves up for the other side of the international break with some tricky fixtures looming in the month after.

It makes it easier to spot the moaners and doommongerers. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism on the individual performance whilst at the same time getting behind what the club and manager are doing.

I would say Bergvall is exactly that type of player. He's just raw at the moment.

Personally, I think it's about patterns of play and players getting used to those patterns (which I think they are starting to now).

There was a clip posted before yesterday's match of Ange taking a training session. All the players repeating attacking plays over and over.

I think the transfer window showed we were interested in doing a lot more but were unable/unwilling to do so. I simply don't buy that Ange wasn't looking for anything more.

As for my general level of misery about the club I was supportive of Levy for years whilst we were told sacrifices had to be made to get the stadium sorted but then it would all be okay.

It's become very clear that the stadium hasn't changed our approach much at all and that any manager we have will always be left short one way or another.

Doesn't mean we're a disaster or anything but...I simply don't see us competing regularly for trophies under Levy and that was, supposedly, the aim.
