I don’t remember seeing a single person calling for a sacking but this made me chuckle.

Ps. I’m off to the Johnson thread with a smug smile on my face with the plan to do the exact same thing.
Mate, some literally were actually wanting him sacked asap.
Go back through the thread, you won't have to go far to find them.

Granted, it was only a couple brave enough to say it out loud but you can guarantee that plenty were more than prepared to leap aboard if given a couple more dodgy results.

There was a few. I asked the question directly. But it wasn’t so much about him being sacked now, but more about who basically doesnt believe in what he’s doing and think he will fail.

Some were brave and stuck their neck out. Which I appreciate. Rather someone be honest with their opinion than skate around it using abstractions and dog whistles.

Those are the posters that make me 🙄 . Just bloody say what you mean. It’s a forum for opinions, right?

Trust me, there is still a lot of supporters who are on the fence and some who may never believe in his methods, falling short of us winning the league. Just the way it is.

I believe in the Ange project, but am I the only one who finds his prickly defensiveness in press conferences tiring?
I quite like it. He's not interested in playing the media game and almost completely nullifies any background noise by having a "it's all just bullshit" approach. Granted, he has to die by that sword too, any bumps in form will be jumped on by the media because he treats them like the half-wit hacks that the majority are.

I mentioned it in another post but I stepped away from this site after reading this and the Brennan thread a couple of weeks back.

After the Newcastle game I felt it, we dominated, we didn't get the result but we were definitely on the right path. The only game this season where we've been off it is against Coventry and that was due to a lot of inexperienced players.

I have to say Ange incorporates everything I want, the bravery of the football is astounding, I've come to the conclusion that it's me (as a fan) that has to get used to it.

It wasn't that long ago that we couldn't even get a shot off in the first half of games (Conte) now we're getting stronger and stronger.

There's going to be a few bad results along the way, but I'm convinced that Ange will take us to the top. And I'm talking about the league.

This season might be too early for us, but it wouldn't surprise me if we are there abouts in April. Even if we're not it doesn't matter, we have the right man, a lot of the right players and we are going in the right direction.

We've got quite a bit of depth as well these days. We should be able to manage injuries a lot better this season.

I firmly believe that with a bit of patience we will be creating something very, very special here.

The glory is coming I can feel it in my balls.

Only City and Chelsea have scored more than us. (Villa, Arsenal, Liverpool same)

Only Liverpool have conceded fewer (same as Arsenal, Fulham, Forest)

Being high up in both categories and having lost 2 games, tells you that it's really working.
The 2 games we lost were down to basic mistakes

do you think Ange wants ‘world class’ players?
He moulds the players into how he wants them to pla,y, that may not be so easy with more ‘finished’ players
I think he wants to win titles. To do that he needs world class players. World class players adjust to managers all the time no issue.

Absolutely, any manager who aims to win it all naturally wants to work with world-class players. Managers like Alex Ferguson, Arsène Wenger, José Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, and Jürgen Klopp all achieved most of their success with outstanding groups of players. While it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to build a team of galácticos, you do need top-tier players to compete consistently over the years. Developing players within a system can only take you so far.

Result aside, this was our usual performance. High speed, high risk. We created a whole load of chances and scored a few of them. Utd were rubbish, played slow and boring, but also created a whole load of chances, but fluffed all theirs.
They created a whole load of chances? I'm sorry, but that's as ridiculous a take as i've seen on SC recently and that's amongst some pretty fierce opposition :D

I said after the newcastle, and arsenal games that performances and results will marry up soon.

All i hear is people talking about how bad utd were, but we pressed them out of existence.

Couple prickly comebacks about previous criticisms. Not a big deal but i think he gets too riled up by press criticism. I liked positive Ange better!
The problem is the journalists aren't happy with his responses to their questions. He just answers every one of them exactly the same "this is how we are going to play every single game regardless of what you think is or isn't working mate". This isn't a story for the journo's and so apart from fitness news the press conferences are non event for them. They want and need a story and so all they are doing is rewording the same questions over and over trying to trip him up.

This is of course is what is making him prickly and snappy.

I really don't care if he takes us to the 'top'. Football is watched for entertainment, and I am entertained. Whilst it would be 'entertaining' to watch us win things, lifting a trophy would be a fleeting moment and only 1% of the total entertainment.

I can understand that, for players, their focus is primarily on winning a trophy. Football is their proffesion and what they will, mainly, be judged upon. However, for me, as a supporter, it is about being able to enjoy and be proud of what I watch, week in week out. I am very grateful to Ange for igniting, again, my passion for Spurs.

His whole system looks so much better with two attacking midfielders, the fullbacks moving inside then totally makes sense. We need to get another player like Bentacur (unless Gray is that player).

I mostly agree with you, but winning a few trophies is definitely entertaining. Being in a title race is exciting; the twists and turns, the must-win matches. Going into the last day of the season still in contention for the league must beat sitting comfortably in sixth place. It’s more entertaining to be in Champions League finals and semifinals than to get knocked out early in the Europa League. Waking up on FA Cup final day, knowing we’re playing, and soaking up the atmosphere is more exciting than not being involved in the final. Watching a team that can really compete is more enjoyable than one that's constantly in transition.
