I feel like a lot of spurs fans are being gaslit by the media and rival fans into thinking what we are doing is unsustainable or won't bring success. We are super early into our project still, we need to see how it unfolds.

Completely agree. Look at the stats. Look at the performances. Ignoring the league position, we've not seen metrics like these since peak Pochettino. We have to trust the process and back the manager. The only thing we lack is better conversion of dangerous situations and a bit of nastiness. More of the dark arts/ cheating that the scum are currently so good at. Start fighting for every fine margin on the pitch, as we've been smash and grabbed too many times already.

If allowed, and when this process reaches its peak. I have little doubt that we will be a very very good team. Ange's football can very much bring success. We all need to have patience and back him. And Levy needs to give him as much in the way of resources as the club can manage. No holding back.

I dont know if some people here have comprehension issues or bad memories, but he has said a numerous amount of times.

HE ONLY WANTS TO WIN. Everything else is secondary. WIN WIN WIN & WIN again.

He believes in his heart of hearts that the best way to do that is to master his system & tactics (which again he has said is extremely demanding and takes time). The same way we all think and believe the sun is going to rise tomorrow morning, he believes he will win & be successful with these tactics. That is why he plays how he plays, because with every fibre of his body he thinks it gives the best probability to win. Will it turn out successful in the long run, only time will tell. But, that is why he won't stray away from this style of play.

I have no idea what the origins were but there was a definite campaign of negativity around Spurs that started for no particular reason during the summer and seems to have swept even reasonably sensible people and publications along with it.

Hopefully things continue to click on the pitch and make the whole thing look very stupid in the end. 🙏

Fate has dealt you both a really bad hand. Choosing spurs instead of Liverpool, man utd, etc. As much as I want to see us win things, I see us more like a team to dream about, to hope about, to enjoy going to games with my mates, and yes, I can see a way for us to become elite but I don't think that's what we've been yet.

I enjoy the hope of believing Ange could be the one, seeing progress, seeing players like Moore, lankshear come out of the academy, seeing Kane rise to the very top. Winning? I dream about winning the league but it's not everything. I hate it when we lose but I never lose the hope. They say it's the hope that kills you. They're wrong. It's the hope that brings the joy for me. It's the hope that feeds my love of spurs. I hope Ange is the one. He is the most respectful, earnest, likeable, and visionary manager we've had in quite some time (visionary because he literally plays with 8 attacking players, and two front footed centrebacks!). If we win with him, that would be the definition of what I hope for.

Winning things is the goal but it's the hope that is everything. If you lose that, you lose.

Top class post, you absolutely nailed it.

Spurs fans need to believe that and not call for his head every time we have a bad result

I can get on board with that. Fully implement the style/system, then I'm sure bits of pragmatism will come when it can make a real difference, like a cup final or a title battle, not scrapping between 4th and 7th.

Wait you mean some morons took a completely unverified source from Twitter and decided it was exactly what Ange said and was a damning indictment of his mentality?

Fuck me some of you shouldn't be allowed on the internet.

I took time to watch it as the original quote and the later posted video were so different and in fairness the posted video is in answer to a different question. The cynic in me wondered why the video was edited without the lead-in question,

timestamp 50:50 for original question and answer quoted
53:15 for the second.

That said, the original quote was paraphrased poorly to be generous.

"When success comes and it will come, it will be glorious because it'll be exactly the way and the style the club wants it"

If he wins us an FA Cup, EL or one day dare to dream a league title, this quote will go down in the echos of Spurs history like the great Bill Nic, Blanchflower quotes etc.

I hope everyone has enough patience and gumption to let this play out, I hope the next 2 windows we go up a level in terms of backing Ange and when success comes and it will... ;) it will be bloody glorious, it'll mean more for us to win one big trophy playing this way and doing it fairly than all of the trophies Chelsea, City etc have bought over the last 10-20 years combined.

Keep believing and COYS.

In Ange we trust.

People fall for it because aggregator accounts like that present themselves as a news source, when they in truth exist only for outrage farming engagement to earn money from the dying husk of Twitter.

Spurs are a prime source for this not only because we're easy to farm but also because negative stories like that will attract engagement from Arsenal fans too, who have a huge online following they can exploit.

We'll all have a little grumble about this or that next time we have a negative result, but we absolutely must stick behind Ange. I think we have improved on last season, even if the results have been much the same, but there's a lot of optimism from me that over time everything will click and we'll hit our stride. We need to get the next couple of transfer windows right however, and that's what I'm not so confident about.

Brighton under Potter were the XG champions but ultimately they lacked the real quality to turn xg into actual goals

Do you think our forward line is of sufficient quality to convert these strong stats into consistently winning?
