I rewatched the whole game and I forgot that United managed to prepare Mason Mount to replace Mainoo, take Mainoo off and then somehow fail to actually bring Mount on at the same time, allowing the game to continue for a minute with them down to 9 men! Their incompetence on Sunday was staggering! And to top it off the United fans were booing us for not putting the ball out!

To be fair it's nothing to do with the PL, the sending off was by the referee who is FA, UEFA & FIFA approved etc, the appeal then goes to a FA panel who rightly decided the referee made the wrong desicion

Premier League clubs can appeal certain red cards on the basis of 'wrongful dismissal'. Once the appeal has been made, the on-field decision will be reviewed by the FA via an independent regulatory commission. This commission is made up of three people who will discuss the appeal after looking over reports from the referee and the fourth official, as well as video evidence of the incident itself.

That was so strange, they had a good 2 or 3 minutes while Mainoo was down getting treatment (because he went off injured, it wasn't a consequence of the red card) while the Fernandes red was being confirmed and the 4th official and his board were nowhere to be seen when Mainoo limped off. It can only be that they didn't communicate the substitution to the 4th official and he didn't have time to put the numbers in or maybe there was some random technical issue but the whole thing was a farce.
