I’ve no sympathy with Fernandes for the red card and don’t quite understand the reaction to it. There are multiple yellow card aspects to it (no attempt to play the ball, high, late) and the defence essentially seems to be that he’s out of control which is usually cited as justification for a red card.

The only way in which he’s unfortunate is that I think the on field decision would stand either way.

Agree. It's soft but it's justified. He slips but then you ask: does he have the ability to pull his leading leg down and avoid the collision? The answer is yes and so he is now out of control and deliberately leading with a high foot. Regardless of where he hits and how soft it is, he is out of control with studs showing. Rules is rules. He's a pro and should know the rules.

Spot on, I felt for him as he wouldn't have kicked out if he hadn't slipped but kick out he did, intentionally and high.
I agree if he'd got a yellow var wouldn't have questioned it either.

So many people were saying sell him as lost it and need to get rid - I said give him time class s permanent form temporary

so many knee jerks hating after every game
I know he was cleared to play last year, but as is typical after an ACL, it looks like it took him 15+ months to get back the explosiveness and confidence he had previous to the injury. Great to see Bentancur fully back!

I'll tell you what's worse than the media not giving us due credit and focusing on united's poor performance.

Giving a monkeys that the media aren't giving us due credit and focusing on united's poor performance.

We played fantastically, anybody who watched the game knows that, I don't care that it's not plastered all over the place.
In fairness, Jordan did say this morning on TS that Spurs outplayed United and made them look second best throughout the game.

As a bigger club United will always get the headlines for a big home loss than any other team.

From my point of view we played as well if not better at Newcastle (who are a better side than United) and came away with nothing.

A bit of perspective is needed, I think we outplayed a poor United side, but a team can take many positives from that game and the season so far.

Johnson is playing well
Bentancur has found his natural position (can be covered by Biss and Bergvall)
Kulu was outstanding in midfield
Solanke is finding his form from last season

And I must say that Werner was very good indeed, that he missed some chances that perhaps Son may have put away, his pace and link up play with Udogie was outstanding.

We will face tougher, better organized teams this season, but over the past four games we look like we can play good football sometimes in adverse circumstances.

The media's opinion that we play a suicidal highline is steadily being disproved, they have just never seen a team playing different tactics, and they believe that because the traditions "top four" do not play this way (taking away the tctical press) then it must be wrong, something I fond bemusing.

United had plenty of pace in their forward line yet when they had ten men created two chances one that hit the post in the first half.

Next week will be a bigger test in my opinion, so let's not get too carried away too much.

Take the three points, the way we played, but look at the opposition and take some perspective.

COYS!

I don't know if anyone noticed but Christian Eriksen came on to not one single player he played with at Spurs, not even on the bench. Son is the only one left so that is one hell of a change around in four years.

And he still can't beat the first man when taking a corner.

For me it was an attempt to impede Mad's progress, not vicious. Beckham got one for mildly kicking out in that England match vs Argies was it .

With a kick so far off the ground a red is always a likelihood imo.

Brilliant shots. Love to see the away fans singing in the rain and the players on the bench enjoying the game. Madders was just about to sit down and we scored the third!
(We’re winning in the rain, Just winning in the rain, what a glorious feeling we are happy again)

four four two video on the game.

this shows why those 'their midfield is so weak', 'Solanke is bad', blah blah blah, comments from opposition fans are so wrong. In this game, the midfield was ideal. The full backs were ideal. Solanke was the perfect player to work with that system and Man Utd had nowhere to go.
