Seems like you are looking for a scapegoat before the match even starts...

From a footballing perspective - if we can control the midfield, we can control the game. That is a pretty universal observation. We will need Bentancur, Kulusevski and Maddison to play well as a unit - and then Sarr and Bergvall on late.
Nothing to do with that, we’ve all said Werner is a bit of a weak link in our attacking options, we are away against a decent side without our captain and we have Richy and Odobert injured so simply we ideally need Werner to put in a good game to give us a better chance of a good result.

So options to change the game if needed:
Moore
Lankshear
Spence
Bergvall

Not quite the depth we’d like if we had Son, Richy and Odobert available but all 4 of those players can have an ‘impact’ in the game if needed, i especially like the idea of bringing on Spence if we need to mix it up a bit.

I think this game could go either way.

Fingers crossed it goes our way.

A draw is ok for either, a loss for either wouldn’t be good, a win for either could lead to some real momentum.

Hugely young bench. An opportunity today for sure for someone to stake a claim and make a lovely memory for them and all of us. Cannot see how we finish the game without Moore getting on the pitch given the shortage of attacking options, which will be a big moment for him in particular whatever the score line. Show us something special Mikey 🙏🏼

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Came in to say something along these lines, couple of injuries and the bench starts to look a little light

Strong team from United. It's one of those ones where Rashford will have his one good game of the season in a 2-1 win for Utd 🤷‍♂️

Fucking typical that when we get even a small number of injuries that they’re all pretty much in one position (ie the left side).

Good job we have Moore and Lankshear and not just some lads who are there to make up the numbers. I guess Ange can also move a few other jigsaw pieces around if Werner has another stinker but we could really do with an international break now. Any more injuries today up front and we’re going to struggle to get through the next 2.

They parked the bus against city and created more chances than they created against us
The point the other poster was making was that we give up lots of chances against our opponents, that’s got nothing to do with City.

You can’t seriously be arguing against the statement that we give our opponents lots of opportunities by picking a game where our opponents deliberately parked the bus in the hope of nicking a goal from a set piece (exactly what happened).

Newcastle, Leicester, Everton, Coventry, Brentford all had good chances to score against us (so did Qarabag but I won’t include that as we were down to 10 men)

Not feeling too optimistic.

If BJ can use some double movement then I think we can exploit Dalot who I think gets caught out positionally quite a bit. But seeing as everything is ball to feet then don’t know how often we can do this.

Their midfield is so immobile so interested to see how Ugarte does. Their wide men will cheat so a little concerned about being hit on the break.

Also this is a fixture we historically concede ridiculous goals in so look forward to Vicario punching a corner into Porto’s face before it deflects of an arse and in or something.

Would take a point. Since Ange came in - only 4 wins against what I could call top 7 sides (including that farcical Liv game and Villa game they went down to 10 in). He needs to start getting results against teams like Utd.

On the positive side, Bentancur, Kulu and Maddison can absolutely run this game.
