good news.

I'd wait to see what was agreed before deciding whether it was good or not. That plan was rubbished but it always was. But they have negotiated. We'll see. Maybe more of the overseas broadcast rights? Dunno.

It is good news imo. The EPL has to stay in the hands of the English clubs not a few foreign owners.

Doesn't surprise me this is an old tactic. Throw in a whole bunch of outlandish proposals mixed in with the desired proposals. When the crap ones are weeded out, the ones truly aimed for would pass with full support from everyone without realizing the true long term impact.

These are from the FA rules below, both Manure and Bindippers have not adhered to these set out principles / regulatory framework, both their action, attitude and conduct towards their sly surreptitious "proposal" including the current plight/situation to lower league football due to COVID is selfish, conceited and narcissistic entitlement.
A Participant shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour.”

" Detriment to the Game: the concepts of “disrepute” and “best interests of the game” are inherently broad and cannot be precisely defined. Charges may be brought where comments cause, and/or may cause, damage to the wider interests of football and/or to the image of the Game"
They've brought the game, image and spirit of the game into disrepute, damaged it (image) and their actions have been improper/surreptitious.

I dont know what punishment/penalties that can be brought to them, but a hefty hefty £10M+ pus fine and deduction of points would be very befitting IMO, I concede the FA will not do that.

This is all very over the top and RAWKish.

I don’t agree with their proposals, but they’ve not done any of the above.

Claims the game has been brought into disrepute are as outlandish as the proposals they were seeking to bring in

they know it's a power grab but are going to cease to exist without it. the big clubs aren't just going to bail out the little ones from the goodness of their hearts. let's be real. The government will do nothing. So the current options are take this deal or cease to exist.
Or stop spending money you havent fkin got. Obviously with no gate money its now too late for that. Its taking advantage of the current situation.
I dont think it'll ever happen. The Government will step in before allowing this bollox if needed.

Listened to the Anfield Wrap podcast (first time for everything) on the subject. They didn't want anything to do with the idea, to be fair.

On red cafe some utd fans did. Not sure if they were young or maybe foreign. Thought because they were big they deserved more. Majority didn't and many realised they were lucky to have fergie when it became the prem. Not checked rawk.

So you somehow want to use a rule that is purely against players/managers in the course of (or immediately before or after) a match against a club for bringing a proposal to the Premier League board, a proposal they didn't even comment on publicly ?

In fact the only person that arguably could at a massive stretch have possibly broken FA rules on this would be Rick Parry, not Liverpool or Manchester United, but the second rule you quote relates to things such as racism, not suggesting things for in their opinion the betterment of the game/clubs they represent

The very fact that this proposal was voted out is proof enough for me as to the merits of one club = one vote..........if it had been otherwise, then we could be seeing this as a reality!

So Premier League is so popular because of its competitiveness. It got so competetive beacues TV revenue is shared between all clubs. It allowed all clubs to get rich and big 6 is already super rich. So rich that even in covid they can make transfers where Bayern, Real, Barca did nothing. What more do they want? In ten years we will only have games against those clubs and everybody will be sick of it.
Ironically FFP was setup by the Italians to cement their standing as one of the big teams in Europe when City, Chelsea and etc. where going wild. Yet despite that Inter and AC struggled and their new owners couldn't pump money in lol

Now the expansion of the CL is being proposed by the same clubs to guarantee their foothold in Europe and money from the top competition

The expansion of the CL will mean more games and the Big 6 are happy to throw the carling cup away and the two PL teams to support that expansion

Some people have called for independent regulation of football:

Given how utterly pisspoor the FA is at pretty much everything, I'm surprised it's taken this long for anyone to make the demand.
