In regards to the 2 CBs, they have had all Intl break working together, perhaps that is Pocks thinking.

Agree, as much as Verts may be fit, Poch would have had time to work with Fazio and Kaboul during the break as to what he wants them to do for this game

This our best chance of getting anything here imo, with Fernando and Lampard in midfield we have the legs on them a bit

I've wanted Soldado to start in front of that midfield all season, but away to City isn't doing him any favours given the amount we will see the ball and probably the amount of long balls we will be booting up field... Lets hope his better vision/passing on the counter makes us a little more effective though.
So now this doesn't count for Soldado because it's city away? We paid the kind of money on him for games like this

No Verts worries me greatly - particularly due to the fact that Fazio and Kaboul are hardly blessed with pace against a mobile City attack.

Soldado's big chance here - will he take it though?

We are probably going to sit fairly deep where the lack of pace for Kaboul and Fazio (hopefully) won't be exposed. Poch also had two weeks to work on tactics with those two while Verts was on international duty.

I'd be very interested to know Pochetinno's reasoning behind the Fazio/Jan switch. City aren't exactly towering lumps and Vertonghen has been playing rather well.

Soldado starting is rather predictable though considering Ade has just come back from internationals yesterday, he must put in a good performance though if he is to keep his spot.

I have fears of the game passing by Mason as although great on the ball he doesn't have much presence. He must try and impose himself today.

Managers never fail to surprise do they? Here's to a surprise score line! (Takes a huge pull on a shplieff)

Come on you spurs!

Probably play on the counter like against Arsenal, hopefully be more clinical though.

The biggest positive for me against Southampton was the centre half partnership of Kaboul and Verthongen. Thought they were brilliant and come out of the ground afterwards thinking they looked a proper partnership and was a lot more hopeful than I have been.

Then the very next game that partnership has been broken up.

I presume Jan is too tired or something.

Sometimes I just don't get modern day football.

I assume the changes are due to returning players' physical state rather than some new master plan (including Fazio and Soldado)

Don't be too harsh on Fatso either, as most times we've seen him he's been next to Chiriches who would make Beckenbauer look like he was a panicky mess.

Well at least people won't be able to say Soldado hasn't benefited from playing infront of Eriksen, Chadli and Lamela.

Hope he comes up with the goods, but I haven't seen anything to suggest he will.

Tough game for him up top on his own, going to spend most of the game watching the ball fly over his head methinks.

Still fingers crossed, free game and get a draw or better would be fantastic.

So glad Hugo is starting, that was the most important thing.

As for Bobby starting ahead of ade?

Awful game for Soldado to get his chance, would have preferred to see him partnered up front with Kane

I used to get so nervous before games but not anymore, just hope we put in a good performance. Bit sad that really.
