How we as a fanbase have been traumatised over the years came across at HT vs City, being 0-2 up.

Few expected a good result, one bloke was v excited...he'd seen the odds against a city win and unfortunately invested heavily in a sure thing !

..and who expects this City match will mean our season get's turned around and we go on a great run ?

Not many I expect. So much sorrow over so long does this to you !
I have to be honest and say that pre kick off, this thread was verging on a disgrace. I think we were all apprehensive but fuck me, some people voice that "we're doomed" stuff in such a way it makes that bloke off Dads Army look like optimist of the year, it's just all such a huge downer and before we've even kicked off you got the feeling people were just waiting to jump on the players and manager. Traumatised or not, support the fucking team and if it makes you feel that bad, then take a break, you're not being held at gunpoint and forced to watch it.

Or, if you really can't, then watch it with your hands tied behind your back whilst having your plums nibbled on by a spiteful cat.

Watching it last night - after I knew the score - made it an easy watch. But, had I watched it live - I would have been nervous until Porro's goal.

We played well - but were also a bit fortunate, as we were cut open several times only for City shots to go wide, or Vicario came up with a few good saves. Thinking back to the first half - Foden and Harland each had a couple of good opportunities.

If there is one thing we still need to work on - tracking runners. Its not just 1-2 players, its something we struggle with as a team.

We wernt really cut open apart from Haaland first chance. His others were drilled in slightly behind him.

A lot of their shots were half chances from acute angles or on the half turn.

At no point did they get through with a one on one etc, or carve us open and leave us totally exposed

I think that’s something that’s improving though

I agree. Vicario's saves were routine except for the shot he stopped with an outstretched leg, which was a top drawer piece of keeping. The only shot that came close was Haaland's that hit the bar and that was a speculative effort.. Other than that I thought they really didn't look like scoring, despite all the 'cutting us open'. Foden, for all his trickery, offered little. Their wingers also contributed little which was because our defence played really well . We never looked vulnerable at corner kicks and Vicario, to my surprise, was faultless apart from a weak punch out early in the game. It was a superb performance by each and everyone of our players.

Apart from our four goal tally we created other really good opportunities which were foiled by their goalkeeper. City were on top for only a small amount of the 90 minutes.

Interestingly different reactions A&C. From me comes sympathy for fans damaged by endless pain from the highs and inevitable lows following Spurs. With untreatable manic disorders essentially...

..While you see posters as fucking idiots..

Modding does that to you I guess ;)

I listened to Sean Custis and Henry Winter on TS this morning, and one sentence from Winter stood out at the bias view on City's opponents.

He said more or less, that Werner had fresh legs and that Walker had played for eighty minutes (which for a start was wrong as Johnson scored at 90+3 minutes).

Anyway i digress, for a team that has spent a billion pounds on players over the past almost decade, you'd have though that Pep the master tactician would have brought on a fresh newly unwrapped right back to counter Ange's chnage?

This is a shining example where credit isn't given where credit is obviously due.

I found a stress free way to watch the match for me. The BBC online txt commentary was about 3 minutes ahead of the Sky Now TV stream. Every time City had an attack I was able to briefly look at the BBC website and know they hadn't scored, allowing me to watch it play out without my blood pressure heading off the chart!

I do that when I'm watching a non-televised game, where I'll check the Sky Sports app if the opposition have a corner or dangerous free-kick. Problem is a couple of times I've checked and instead read that we've scored on the break before seeing it myself, so I do try and limit it 😅

Yep, I check the texts while I am walking round the estate at the back, if it’s an evening game. I check the score every 27th lamppost, and if all is okay, I pee on it with relief. It also keeps Arsenal fans, and most others, at bay.

Did they criticise Man City's transfer window at all , summer window saw Savinho signed for 25 million euros and Gundogan on a free also they have no cover for Haaland if that was us the media would be all over it.

Yesterday it was obvious they have ageing players like Walker who need replacing.

The end of the day their master tactical manager called the shots.

I still cannot understand why they bring back a player who wanted out? Weak management that.

No doubt in the January window they will go out and spend, trouble with that is who will they get to come in for six months just to sit on the bench next season after Rodri returns?

Rewatching in full here currently. Haven't done this for a while.

Sarr's performance largely went unnoticed but jesus he is a running machine. And technically he is underrated by some of our fans.

The break in play on 40 minutes when Vicario went down really gave us what what we needed before half time, as City were starting to control the game.

It was also probably Udogies best game all season defensively for the most part although I thought in the first 10 minutes he was lazy tracking back.

Dragusin and Davies have a really good understanding of where to be and when to play short and when to go longer. I think that's overall a sign of Ange adapting our system more than anything.

Also, the way we played out the last couple of minutes of the first half were totally and utterly the most professionally managed few minutes I've seen us play. We managed the game so well
