I think we could see a new version of this team for these tough away games. Obv a few different faces in there now, KWP, maybe Sanchez (although I’d like to see Dier back there), Sissoko/Winks/Ndombele, Moura/Lamela if Dele isn’t fit.

A fit Alli to harass Rodri would’ve been ideal. Eriksen has to start as does Verts. Time for Moura to show his worth again. Would be nice to see Lo Celso on the bench. This post is a stream of thoughts: each one a seemingly unconnected sentence - not my finest writing. I’d take a draw.
I think Lo Celso will definitely be involved. Poch has limited options for the bench as it is so although I would love him to start, I'm sure we will see him in some capacity from the bench.

Playing away to City in the second game of the season just feels like a free hit to me. Lose and plenty of time to bring those points back, draw or win great and we continue to build confidence.

Three at the back away against Manchester City I'm not so sure.

I actually think we've got really lucky this season having City, Arsenal, United, Liverpool, Everton, West Ham and Leicester away before Christmas. In fact I think our two home games against Liverpool and City are fairly soon after the New Year, meaning our last 10-15 league games are "winnable" fixtures.

Sky obviously use pundits that will provoke certain mindsets, they want clicks, you give them clicks.

If they just use vanilla pundits, they dont get any clicky clicky.

Yep, Talksport do it as well which is why you get people like Dean Saunders spouting nonsense so people can call in.

He actually fucked up a bit the other day, Adrian Durham was being panned by Alan Brazil for slating that Sheffield Utd striker the day before he scored the equaliser on Saturday.
Saunders tried defending Durham by saying words to the effect of 'We dont always say what we really think on here, sometimes we say things just for the showbiz'...before he was shushed.
Basically admitting they say stuff just to provoke reaction.

Feel like it's come too early for us. Ndombele still adjusting, Lo Celso not bedded in at all, and the suspension to Son.

I was reading through before posting and the words 'free hit' is exactly what I was going to say.
.
I fear the worst as a Spurs fan but hope for the best with a draw a happy medium.
.
It takes away the thought of having to go up there at the arse end of the season needing points to get over
the line for CL qualification.

@Bulletspur .. Merci

In fact I think our two home games against Liverpool and City are fairly soon after the New Year, meaning our last 10-15 league games are "winnable" fixtures.
If you compare our fixture list this season with the comparable results last season (substituting promoted clubs 1-3 for relegated clubs 18-20), there are some random anomalies that will make it hard to gauge our progress.

  • Our first 10 fixtures this season produced 21 points (7-0-3) last season.
  • Our next 10 fixtures this season produced 30 points (10-0-0) last season - yes, 10 wins.
  • Our next 10 fixtures this season produced 6 points (2-0-8) last season.
  • Our final 8 fixtures this season produced 14 points (4-2-2) last season.
Comparing points based on number of games played is going to be highly deceptive during the central part of this season.

Son an Alli being out is unfortunate for this one, I always feel one of those two will step up in a game against the top 6, as well as Kane.

Still got plenty of firepower up top but we need everyone to click tomorrow just to stand a chance of getting something, going to be backs against the wall for most of the game just hope that we can cause a massive upset.
