That's us fucked for the foreseeable future. This verdict has pretty much given Newcastle's prospective owners the go ahead to come in and spend as much as they please.

Was obvious when the ban was announced in Feb that CAS would overturn it I don't know why some of you are only now convinced they are a joke. They've overturned plenty already that should have stuck look at the Chelsea rulings. I'm convinced that owners could mic themselves up and be on live game coverage outright handing wads of cash to officials telling them it's for favourable decisions and CAS would still overturn any punishments

Money can buy the best lawyers it seems, they've blatantly cheated and always knew they'd get away with it.

Seems that they got away with it because the crimes were over 5 years ago. UEFA should of brought the case earlier. Dicks.

Don’t know about the UK, but here in America statute of limitations is a thing that exists.

FFP didn’t come into play until 2015. If it wasn’t against the law at that time then they technically didn’t do anything wrong.

not defending it by any means it’s bullshit but by the letter of the law...

I really can’t stand that smarmy expression that little rat always has on his face. A life of unimaginable privileges and always getting his own way - even when he knows he’s outright cheating - will lead to that look.

Imagine back when he said “I’m going to buy a Premier League football club and pay for them to win everything” - and that was actually allowed to happen.

What I find staggering is that Man City / Chelsea / PSG / Juventus and in the future Newcastle have already or will believe that they are a fantastic club for winning so many trophies when every supporter that does not support one of these clubs believes that they have cheated to win and that any club from any division with the kind of backing could achieve almost anything in football .
I have said it before football has always been about money but the clubs that have the money have earned their financial status via success on the field of play thus expanding their fan base and having large crowds attending matches and buying merchandise there are also a few clubs that have wealth thru stellar CEO management .
But this sugar daddy route to success gets no admiration from me but it is amazing how the media in particular football pundits seem oblivious to the fact that these clubs deserve no respect or credit for their wins as it is a case of but for the grace of god it could be any club .
Its just a matter of what level these money moguls want to start IE division 2- div 1 - championship - Premior league .
Its interesting to listen to Guardiola who is over the moon at this decision . Where as Klopp and Mourhino are disgusted by the decision .
It seems like the tail will now shake the dog (configurativly speaking ) The FA and EUFA and FIFA are no longer in charge of their own competitions as the money clubs can overturn any decision and they can do as they please with no come back .

As long as football clubs are considered businesses, then it just doesn't make sense to cap the amount than an owner can invest in that business. Man City owners can make the case that their investments have grown the revenue and brand value of Man City, which makes it a legitimate use of money.

A better rule would cap the net spending allowed in the transfer window to something like 100 million euros. Then it affects the big clubs as much as others.

A better rule would be not allowing these sovereign wealth funds take over a club in the first place or at least ban any sponsorship deals from said countries.

I actually don't mind if an owner wants to put money into a club, as long as it's on transfer fees, but the club should be able to pay the players off their own back and without over inflated sponsorship deals.

What Jose says is correct he has no idea if they are guilty or not but if they are guilty then an £8 mill fine is ridiculous also if they are innocent an £8mill fine is wrong you cannot fine somebody who is innocent .
So therefore the judgement is a joke ; a farce; a cock up; a shambles but mostly a kick in the teeth to those that abide by the rules .
Longlive the rich moguls they are killing the game we all love .
We already know the league winners in Italy and France and our football league winners are going to come from Chelsea / Man City and possibly Newcastle . This year is an exception with Liverpool but these oil richh cubs will soon correct the annomolly with the use of their cheque book .

The source of the money is always a consideration though whether it be money laundering or exploitation.
