I read that it's pretty much been verbally agreed that all these payments will still happen as its through no fault of the players they will miss the CL.

I can see them just using stealth payments to fuck the rules over in future, which are very hard to police.

I'd imagine they've already pushed the 'stealth payments' envelope to the max and been caught out. They knew they were cheating but carried on as if they were above the law (in footballing terms) and disrespected everybody involved in the game . One thing for sure is that they will be under the microscope from now on, however the current situation pans out and if their European ban is upheld, I think they need to be on an extended period of probation with the threat of severe consequences for a long time to come.

Photo op in abu dhabi with an emirates sign in the background £10m. Uefa wouldn't be able to do anything to stop it.

Jose and Wenger (I think) have both spoken out about this before.

not surprised, but still disappointed how many excuses you hear for their behaviour from football journalists and pundits.

blah, blah....yeah sure it seems the rules were broken....but oh david silva what a player blah blah...poor old pep...blah blah

They cheated. Full stop. All fully documented. If severe action isn't taken against them the game is dead.

on another note...why are people so gullible...."sponsorship" from Emirates airlines....I mean yeah right. The THFC equivalent would have been Spurs getting an eye watering shirt sponsorship, stadium and training ground naming rights deal from....ENIC. The ENIC stadium, ENIC on the shirts....and ENIC telling UEFA and the media at 100m per year...it's a sound business transaction, and oh no, no, no...got nothing to do with bending or breaking the rules to subsidise loss making and the biggest splurge on football transfers ever in football history.....outrageous accusation....pure anti-Spurs bias...

....poor old pep....blah blah....they scored some nice goals blah blah blah
Stan Kroenke owns Emirates? Wow

Knowing our luck they'll get a 50 point deduction and it'll save West ham on the last day of the season!

Reading this article on the Beeb makes for depressing reading https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51528427 , the legal battle could go on for ages I hope that UEFA have some very sound evidence against City.
Going to be interesting to see the Leicester fans reaction at City's next away game .

Trying the "well the emails were hacked" line. Not a denial of wrong doing just that, had they not been hacked, no-one would have been any the wiser and they would get away with it. Sums up the scum running that club to a tee.

A suspended ban isn't a guarantee either - look at Chelsea's transfer ban. It was still valid for a year while they appealed.

Ultimately I expect money to win this argument and City have an endless supply of it.

Thinking about it, even a points deduction would probably be applied historically rather than now. We will then end up with Liverpool being awarded the title from 2013/14.

You have to expect the commentators to 'excuse' Man City behaviour as they are all face down in the same trough of money. The game is corrupt from top to bottom and there is no answer whilst the television companies throw billions at the game.

I may be wrong but will stand corrected if someone knows differently but I think that Eufa and the FA have to endorse any teams entering European competitions . if that is the case they may well be barred from entering European competitions until such times as the FA and EURO say " ok you can enter our club " so to speak . And so even if winning their case they may still not be allowed to play these competitions until the powers that be deem they are proper and fit . At least I hope this is the case the cheating B......s

Lest we forget that Spurs were docked points for the 94/95 season as well, not to mention being banned from the FA Cup.

Jose’s Utd side would be awarded the 2018 title.

Nope - the case covers payments etc. from 2012-2016 so anything after that wouldn't be affected.
That's not to say they still weren't dodgy after that time period, but that's not what the investigation was about.

If the ban is upheld and they honour payments to players as if they were still in the CL, how can they possibly hope to be within FFP restrictions?

technically true of course, but their cheating during 2012-2016 certainly was a help to them in the few years after.
