My hatred for pool has lessened somewhat in recent months.
You just gotta smile and tip your hat to them.

Proper run club
Great manager
No financial doping, had to sell big players and bought well
I can admire the club and the way it's been managed but the fans...

Nah, got no time for them. I've only ever met one decent bin-dipper and even he hated 'pool fans.

Scummy side to them too, driving locals out the area around the ground.

Manager is great but an utter ****
. No class whatsoever when you scratch the surface. Wait and see when they go back to losing games.
You have basically just described us there

Did we drive out many residents? Didn’t the club handsomely compensate most of the businesses that had to be moved, especially the factory that mysteriously burned down?

At least Jose is genuine.

Lord Pannick QC didn't "try to stop Brexit twice". That's typical Daily Mail hysterical claptrap. He represented Gina Miller in her two cases against the government - the first to secure Parliament a say in the Brexit process during the then May government's tenure and the second to stop the Boris Johnson led government from proroguing Parliament. Both cases were successful, and particularly in the second case were absolutely needed. Whatever your stance on the Brexit debate, the law must be upheld.
Whilst I agree that the law must be upheld, the end result has to be seen as a net loss to the country. Effectively it has done little but reduce the amount of time available to negotiate any subsequent trade deal.......and it was pretty obvious imo this would be the outcome from day 1.

My understanding of it is that they share the same offices. Not in the sense they work for the same company as if it were a firm of solicitors, but as a QC they operate independently and share facilities close to a court (happy to be corrected if this isn't the case..). Saw the tweet yesterday and found it amusing that you could have the defence working across the room from the guy who found them guilty in the first place.

Well, if they've hit 'the Pannick button', it must be bad...

I know....

Getting back to the topic in the opening post...I have no doubt that if the 2 year ban is upheld, we'll see a mass exodus of players away from The Etihad and I include Pep Guardiola, and I don't care that he has made a public statement tto say otherwise. I believe he was 'encouraged' to do that by the club's owners to try and stabilise the panic situation.

No decent player is going to want to join City if there's no chance of Champions League footy, and there's be no point in Pep sticking around either if finishing in the top four, or even winning the EPL brought no rewards other than to hand a CL place to whoever finishes fifth.

That's just my view.

Pep will want to be remember for all the good things he did for Citeh that's why I think he'll run if the ban is upheld. If they get relegated to Lge 2 he'll definitely be off no way will he manage that far down the football ladder.

Relegated to League 2? Is that a realistic possibility as a result of the charges being proven? Seriously?

WOW.

The League Two scenario comes about because City would if expelled have to apply to the EFL and the EFL wouldn't chuck them straight into the Championship, they'd have to start at the bottom.

But supposedly the 19 other PL clubs have advised the PL organisation that they are not in favour of expelling City from the league.

Make of that what you will.

You say the other 19 clubs have advised the PL they're not in favour of seeing City relegated, but you use the word 'supposedly' so I'm not clear from your post as to whether they have or they haven't.

I say supposedly because I've heard it on a podcast but can't remember which or what the source was.

The only people who will be impressed by city this season other than their own supporters will be the media TV newspapers etc .
The rest of us are in what I have come across in speaking to non city fans is "so what " this is because they have cheated and what they win has no real value in the minds of myself and others .
The media has always been impressed by winners and wealthy owners just don't let morality get in the way .

it always has been and always will be regardless of this cheating allegation. Personally I don’t see anything wrong with their owners ploughing however much of their own money in as they own the club, it’s theirs (Putting aside how they got that money for now) so why shouldn’t they be allowed to buy whatever mercenary they choose. From a football supporter point of view, no real fan gives them any credit for winning the lottery, same as Chelsea. Without their lottery wins then they wouldn’t have been premier league or champions league winners and when the day comes that the owners want out it’ll be nothing more than a meh shrug of the shoulders from me as one by one all their players up sticks and go to whatever club pays them their next £400k a week.

on a side note, it’s pretty much common knowledge that Usmanov has sponsored Everton’s training ground for something like £100m or something equally ridiculous. One would assume that the next club to be done would have to be them?

The powers-that-be will let them win the CL, then give them a ban for a year. The players will all likely stay because they'll still be getting paid shitloads. Which is all they really care about.

That's obviously true, but the thing is, all those City fans don't give a toss how they've done it.

Carrying your approach to its logical conclusion the other clubs not backed by a country may as well give up.
