He may well end up at a club like goons, but he is in no talks with them. Agent normals going on.

“Two unnamed clubs, not Manchester United, are currently in talks to sign Tottenham Hotspur target and Bordeaux winger Malcom.”

Brazilian media claim Tottenham in line to do January deal, bid already made

Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to beat their Premier League rivals to Bordeaux forward Malcom, according to Brazilian media outlet UOL.

The 20-year-old, who has scored seven times in 18 appearances this season in Ligue 1, has reportedly been attracting interest from Manchester United and Arsenal but the Brazilian report states that Spurs have had a €35million bid turned down by the French side.

The spark in interest from English clubs such as Tottenham was heightened even further when it was revealed by a post on Malcom’s Instagram account that he is currently taking English language classes.

Bordeaux are reluctant to sell their prized asset and are determined to keep him at the Matmut Atlantique but it remains to be seen if the player forces their hand with the club hovering above the relegation places in the French top-flight.

The Brazilian, who can play on either wing or as a second striker, joined the Les Girondins for around €5m from Corinthians in January 2016 and has gone to score 15 goals in 67 appearances.

The interest from Tottenham may spark Manchester United and Arsenal into action before the transfer deadline but it may take a large offer for Bordeaux to consider selling the forward who is under contract with the French club until June 2021.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino appears keen to add to his attacking department during January and the young and exciting talent of Malcom fits the bill although the Argentine may have to wait until the summer before getting his man.

The Tottenham boss has let Georges-Kevin Nkoudou join Burnley on loan and as such has lost one of his attacking options for the remainder of the campaign.

In regards to the Malcom link, Spurs fans will be wary of buying any more wingers from French football following the muted impact that Nkoudou and Clinton Njie have had in North London.

Tottenham face League Two side Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup after dispatching AFC Wimbledon at Wembley on Sunday.

Pochettino’s men are back in Premier League action this weekend as they host Everton for a 5.30pm kick-off on Saturday.

The Argentine returns to his former club Southampton on January 21 before the cup tie with Newport on January 27.

I don’t think we have put a bid in yet “supposedly” but I think there is interest imo and he’s learning English too. (FYI I’m not ITK I just sharing from what I’ve heard)

Arsenal have identified Tottenham Hotspur target Malcom as the replacement for Alexis Sanchez and are meeting with the player’s agent today. [Di Marzio]

Still can't see this happening, especially not in Jan. Not sure he would be the best option for the money anyway.

For some reason I think there is legs in this, we are clearly targeting the French league and have been for a good few years. But who was the last success... Ekotto is the only one that springs to mind over a decade ago. We're bound to come up sucking a tit instread of our thumb at some point.

I didn't know he was only 20.
7 goals in 18 games is pretty impressive then, albeit only half a season.
