In a heartbeat. He's the best player we've had at the club in the Premiership era.

King, VDV, Klinsmann, Ginola and Berbatov (maybe even Bale too) all would argue with that.

On the point of Modric, if he was available on the cheap I would have him back as he would settle much faster than Moutinho.

He was better for longer than Klinsmann and VdV, more consistent than Ginola, Berbs and Bale (so far) and less injury prone than Ledley.

Plus playing where he did he was simply much more influential on the game than any of the above.

He's also, IMO, a much better player than Moutinho is.

It will never happen, but if we had a chance we'd be mad not to be looking into it.

I would argue that we would need to buy just so that our rivals dont get him, him going to United or Chelsea could terrible for us, if we ever dare to kick on or build from fighting for the top 4 spot

Im with you on this one.

I know its not nice when a player wants to leave our beautiful club, but, when it comes down to players playing on the field for spurs we need to have the best team possible, and if that means having the opportunity to take rat face back then we should jump at the chance as he's a quality player who would improve our team no doubt; i wouldn't be saying all this if he was a disruptive influence but the facts are he isn't.

it wont happen however.....

Whiskey chops will be all over it if he becomes available IMO

I think if he does bid we should complain to the FA and say he just got Madrid to sign. Him so that he could buy him a few months later " it's got old red noses fingerprints all over it " !!!

Him feeding van persie would be scary so let's hope it don't happen!

I see no one has stopped to think, would Modric would want to come back?

No. It'd be an admission of failure. Besides that he'll have top class clubs queuing round the block to take him from Madrid. World class players attract attention from the worlds best clubs, that's how he ended up at Madrid in the first place.

Right. But Modric would be a massive upgrade on Dembele in a two man midfield, not to mention the fact that he'd be unbelievably good in a three alongside Sandro and Dembele.

ok well i don't agree. luka is better than dembele but the latter is a better fit in this current lineup for me, even if dembele isn't playing well he's still super solid whereas luka could get pushed around and bullied, especially away from home. as a 3 it's exactly the same problem as bringing in moutinho, 1 dm and 2 cms, not one of those offers enough in the final third consistently.

even if modric were a possibility it would cost over £20m, if we only have that amount to spend on one player then it's going on someone who will affect the game in the final third, rather than just the middle.

Modric is better than Dembele (not by much though), but i'd rather have Dembele if we're going to play only 2 in the middle. Dembel and Sandro are devastating together. Modric and Parker left us quite exposed a lot of the time last year.
