The talk is that we are competing with Arsenal and the two Milano clubs for Lorenzo Pellegrini from Roma.

"The 22-year-old has also reportedly attracted interest from Tottenham, AC Milan and Inter Milan with Spurs and Arsenal having already contacted his agent, according to Inside Futbol.

Pellegrini's contract at the Serie A club does not expire until the summer of 2022 but Roma are reportedly keen to agree a new one without the release clause.

The Italy international made 33 appearances last season, in which he scored four goals and contributed seven assists."

Apparently he has a 27m clause in his contract that Roma are desperately trying to remove, but he wants CL football. Don't know how likely it is, or if it's just agent whoring yet again.

Could very well be, but the story is out there so it's coming from somewhere.

Ndombele and Pellegrini to call upon with Lo Chelso and Eriksen in AM would be wonderful.

How long has be had the release clause?

If it was there last summer, then you'd have to think we would have signed him already if Poch was interested.

The obligatory YouTube scouting video:

He looks good in both parts of the pitch but it feels like he would only be an option if Ndombele is going elsewhere.

Highlight reels are difficult to base an opinion on but i can see why we'd have a reported interest - seems to have a decent all-round game based on the clips. Solid press and tackling, good eye for a pass, good feet and capable of grabbing the odd goal. Too little to judge what he's really capable of but he seems to have the tools.
