Looks like the Joshua/Pulev fight will now take place at the O2 and not the Spurs stadium - bit of a disaster, I was expecting it to be re-scheduled, but not the venue changed. Presumably we have too many games coming up in a short space of time/an outdoor venue wasn't appropriate given the new date?

Not good either way, this was supposed to be the summer of packing in the events and showing the stadium off to the world.

Hopefully it’ll work out for the Fury fight although I expect that to be at Wembley if they’re allowed crowds in by then

After all that looks like Joshua will be fighting at here after all. Usyk is a bigger fight too.

Out of interest, how much are events like this worth to us commercially?

I would presume we charge a fee for use of the stadium and also keep drink / food revenue, whilst the promoter keeps the ticket sales. 80,000 fans at £100 a pop would generate £8,000,000. Not sure what the fee would be as we'd need to be competitive in comparison to other venues like Wembley or Cardiff. I suspect we'd make £1M for the use of the stadium, and another £1M from food and drink. Most of the revenue from a boxing fight comes from pay-per-view sales and not in person ticket sales.

But do dozen events like this a year (concerts, boxing, NFL, rugby, e-sports etc.) and we're looking at a potential extra £20M+ a season in revenue.

Done know how accurate this is, but saw this article https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-new...-are-set-for-financial-windfall-in-september/

Either way it is a it part of strategy and the financial boost over this year if we can do multiple events could be significant. Also big events being held here wiĺ purely be attractive to potential naming rights sponsors
