London calling for Anthony Joshua with Tottenham’s stadium a likely venue

“Wembley doesn’t look great, date-wise,” said Hearn. “Tottenham Hotspur is a nice new stadium for a UK fight. We’ve got to look at it. I think
the phone has gone crazy and it’s like, ‘Bring him here, bring him here.’ They’ve seen what we’ve done here and there’s a lot of options internationally but he does want to box back in the UK.

“We spoke to Spurs about hosting this fight, which they were keen to do, but unfortunately the dates didn’t work out. They would be keen to do it and it would be a nice stadium to do it in London.”

I watched a few boxing matches at a football stadium,....I might as well have stayed at home and watched it on the TV!

Take the pitch out though for a much better view (more vertical), plus the giant screens...

if there is a stadium in the UK that's best suited for it it's this one

Was it Bruno v Bugner at WHL? :D

That was one of them, back in '87 I think, the fight took place in a candy floss stand!
Was at Mcguigan/Pedroza fight Loftus road as well.

He might go the way of Frank Bruno, all physique and that weird fucking talk, ( he sounds a bit punchy already) everyone loves him but ends up a punch bag.

Looks like the Joshua/Pulev fight will now take place at the O2 and not the Spurs stadium - bit of a disaster, I was expecting it to be re-scheduled, but not the venue changed. Presumably we have too many games coming up in a short space of time/an outdoor venue wasn't appropriate given the new date?

Not good either way, this was supposed to be the summer of packing in the events and showing the stadium off to the world.

Devastating. Group of non spurs fans wanted to go and couldn't wait to show off the stadium.

When is it being rescheduled for? May not have an audience due to covid hence the change to a cheaper / smaller venue
