Tough place to go and the wheels could have come off. However, the result is all that matters. Sometimes you win badly!
Optimistic that the minutes the team gets now will make them sharper as the games come along and we’ll hopefully have the depth in the squad to manage them. Fingers crossed anyway.

Mate these guys are paid in soil, manure and an occasional rake thrown in for the holidays.... farmers.
I feel sorry for you. I mean it. You must be one of those Sunny beachers who got cut while intoxicated and then cry to the insurance company for compensation, then come home saying how shitty the place is, but forget thay the shit comes from you.
I am fed up with this. Ignorant!

Do we know the potential teams we should draw for the final qualifying round yet? I know the draw is tomorrow

I think there is a a good player in there. But he was basically leaving it, putting his hand up to say he's not offside and it hit is ankle and rolled in.

Hope it is the kick start he needs though.

It’s more the forward thinking passes and actual injection of movement off the ball in that move rather the accidental tap-in that is encouraging. Major part of the teams issue seems to be that everyone is so in fear of losing the team shape and being called out for a mistake that they aren’t moving off the ball. With the ball yes, pressing sometimes but the off ball movement is painful and makes us look absolutely pedestrian. A few wins might bring more confidence to do it but was nice to see Ndombele make that pass and move right through the opposition.

I know they had 9 men at the time, but the goal was quite good. The interplay between GLC, N'Dombele and Lamela, the run in from Doherty during that and the fact that WE KEPT A MAN WIDE!!! Lucas being that man to fire the cross in for the run from our midfield.

We don't have any other midfielder that plays that pass that Ndombele made and then runs past players to try and get on the end of something. He's literally the only one that passes forward and then also moves forward. I know his off the ball work is sloppy and he's not the fittest, but in terms of quality he is levels above the Winks' and Sissoko's.

Our general movement off the ball is atrocious and seems to be getting worse and not better. Whenever someone in midfield has the ball, the front 3 are usually just standing there, our right back is high up the pitch being marked by their left back, and our left back is in a back 3, no wonder we can't create nothing unless playing 9 men.

I wonder is it possible that JM is gradually giving TN minutes to build up his match fitness. 15 minutes against Everton, about 30 mins in this game?
Whilst they are not exactly top flight opposition, Ndombele completely changed the game for us, so I'm hoping that JM has praised him roundly for that and let him know that he's a nailed on starter if he continues to show the application, intelligence and flair that he showed tonight. If TN really has decided to knuckle down and perform, that's the kind of feedback that you need from a manager to give you the confidence to kick on and keep improving.

Early days yet, but we know his ability and, if he can couple that with the right mindset? Oh boy...

Something I've noted but I'm not sure if its a valid point, interested to know what others opinions are.

I feel like too often when we attack we leave a large area at the edge of the opponents' box without anyone there to arrive late into the box or collect a 2nd ball and shoot/key pass. Bergwijn's shot hitting the crossbar occurred by making a late run into the top of the box.

I understand that because they were sitting so deep and narrow we wanted to stretch the defence as much as possible as the middle was crowded. I've felt we are missing opportunities by doing this for a while not just this game, especially with Deles tendency to sit on the CBs. Many times tonight Lo Celso was filling this area but sometimes he gets right in the box and stands on the other side of a CB to Kane.

To me, it just seems like a lot of space that could be used for long shots by anyone of Son/Kane/Bergwijn/Lucas/Bale or at least help move defenders away from intercepting crosses.

It's the worse about Mourinho. Lot of good things in his work.

But so much information, some much focus on not making mistakes, really takes a toll on payers heads.

You need a very imposing personality just to deal with him.

Spot on. The trouble is, there’s a handful of people who are just waiting for the slightest opportunity to put the boot into Mourinho. They are that desperate that they’ve unplugged their bullshit filters and just spew their bile all over the place like a water sprinkler gone mad

Agreed, some people do it with Levy as well
