Lamela was definitely offside. He tried to touch the ball, the replay shows it,and this is a clear-cut interference.
As I say, I watched it live on stream so I based it on that not the replay. I agree with what you said earlier though, the officials didn’t have a great game all around tonight.

More minutes in the bank to gain fitness can only be a good thing.

The thing that struck me about the Amazon documentary was the pre match and half time talks. Whilst Jose was saying very pragmatic stuff, it was hardly rousing. Same goes for Kane and Lloris before the game. Its probably why we always start slowly. In the Nfl they have a "Hype Coach" that get the players all hyped up before a game. I really think we should do something similar.

We survived. I frankly don't know how we were 1-0 down, between the Davies and Son chances, Bergwijn hitting the bar and the stonewall penalty not given - we really should have been 4-0 up at that point! Got through anyway, on to the Saints now - a Bale goal would be very fitting :D

Not sure I can take this mid week madness as well...

Ah well, if it wasn't a rollercoaster, it wouldn't be Spurs. Banana skin avoided.

Season 2, Episode 2 of AoN starts to end with Jose screaming in the away locker room of Plovdiv;

“Hey boys - you see Tongee? That’s who played like a @&$! Play like @&$!s”

It ends when Bodø/Glimt beat AC next Thursday.

I seriously think it might happen, Glimt are playing amazing football right now.

Yeah i will put a bet on Glimt. Great team and will get high odds.

Worth a punt for the gamblers out there.

If we had gone out tonight would Gareth have changed his mind?:sneaky:
It's not unthinkable. It's also possible we'd have pulled it. If it's true we're paying him £250k per week, that's £26m over a two-year loan i.e. about the minimum we'd be expecting to earn from the Europa given an even competent showing.

I get where you are coming from as it's an easy cliche, but it is a little insulting considering they're still a professional football team. Ranked 273 in UEFA club co-efficient rankings

Mate these guys are paid in soil, manure and an occasional rake thrown in for the holidays.... farmers.

We kept them out other than a really long-range shot and a set-piece.
They had played 8 games this season as a team.
They had 3 ATB which we seem to always lack answers for. Add on top them sitting deep.
Lo Celso first game this season(?) Sissoko in the middle with him.
Need Dele/Ndombele/Pending Signing to create chances

Overall I'm not too worried, no doubt we should be dispatching Plovdiv. But our key players haven't played much together yet this season and our front line is struggling with cohesion. Hopefully, this result will grant some confidence and be the start of a decent run during this torrid schedule especially with new players coming in to sharpen up the wide players.

Sissoko should not be playing against teams like that with dodgy surfaces. We know his strengths, he tries his best and can be very difficult to play against, but in a game where the onus is on us to break them down I just don’t see the point.

I can’t believe we’ve got 4 games in 8 days next week. I’ve literally just realised. That’s a fucking shambles.

Luckily we have 2 good teams in our squad but still! We’ll be playing our second team against Orient no doubt but we absolutely need to win against Southampton, Newcastle and Europa. And Orient obvs, but something has to give. it’ll be interesting to see what teams he puts out.
