I am sad to see Bony joining Swansea. Great signing for them.

Bony has the potential hallmarks of another Benetake, who with a hat full of goals for Swansea will see his value double or triple. I'll give Swansea their due, this is a big gamble and statement of intent.

Loic Remy is not in the same league as Lloris, Vertonghen, Dembele, Paulinho, Villa etc and is approaching 27. If we are buying players of Remy's quality then they should be early 20's maximum.

Maybe not, maybe yes! I'd swap him n the squad for Dempsey in a heartbeat! Remy and Benteke for example wouldn't be that bad with Dempsey out!

I would not mind seeing Remy at Spurs, but it depends on the transfer fee. Alexandre Lacazette and Lacina Traore would be two good signings, in my opinion.

Yes. I really can't understand why we didn't go for him. He cost £12m. He's 24. He scored 31 goals on 30 appearances last year albeit in an inferior league.

Even if he has a mediocre year, he'll score over 10 goals. We could sell him for a minor loss.

However, if he does well (which I suspect he will), we're sorted for years in a position that's the most difficult to fill, and we'll make huge gains on our investment. It was a no-brainer, but Swansea have taken the gamble and I suspect they'll reap the rewards.

because we went for and got soldado as our number one striker instead. yes theres room for another but maybe bony wasn't happy with second fiddle. im happy personally that bony wasn't our big striker signing and we got soldado

I don't think there were even reports that we looked at bony. I'm delighted with soldado, but when strikers are such a rare commodity, there's no reason not to take the risk for 12m. At that price, he didn't need to be our big striker signing. We could have been sorted for another 6 years.

Still, let's see how he does... I suspect he'll be very good indeed.

It was really hard to shift Pav, so can understand Levy's caution here.

Not established enough to just throw £12m at, with stadium, trying to attract players of CL calibre and trying to keep Bale.

We can do better. ;)
