Ideally yes, but they signed him for 12m, so theres no chance of us getting him for any less that that. They also rejected 18m from s on deadline day, although that would probably be because they wouldn't have been able to get a replacement in in time, but i'd say we'd probably be looking at a similar price now. Which is far too much Imo for 'competition' up front.

But they're not going to be in Europe next year and by all accounts they need the money so I'm sure Dan Levy could get him for less than £18m.

Been reading Marseille's forum, they seem pretty happy to get 20m Euros for him. His finishing is meant to be pretty poor. They could be just bitter to lose him, but 12 goals as the main guy for Olympique isn't exactly prolific.

Would be a good signing for €10-12m, he is supposed to be lightening quick and versatile. Finishing is nowhere near Defoe or Saha though

But €18m and our biggest signing of the summer (probably)....I would be disappointed

Not entirely convinced. I was in January, but not so much now. I like his adaptability, his pace and his name. All very important things, but I worry about the fact that he seems quite lightweight, maybe doesn't effect games as largely as he should, and should probably have couple more goals AND assists for this season.

I'd be having to trust the scouts on this one

Thats the worrying thing! Comolli got a lot of stick but the scouting set up under him was absolutely brilliant

I am very very unconvinced by our scouting set up outside of England since Harry left

I have been saying it for over a year now,Loic Remy is the perfect player for Spurs.

Add a Soldado and a Verthonghen and the sky is the limit.

Just so you all know he has been injured a LOT this season, hence his comments about not having a full season for Marseilles and his lack of goals.

A question to those who've seen a fair bit of him, is he a clinical finisher or would he waste a fair few chances? Oh, and is his main position a wide forward or lone striker (either way I feel we need a versatile player who could play wide and up front)?

He can play either wide right or as a lone striker he has devasting pace and a very good first touch in the game against Lille i think it was where Harry was at he scored 2 one was a header and the other he rounded the keeper he looked deadly in the games i seen.

Can we stop referring to 1st team and backups? It's a squad game and we need a strong squad to compete at the highest level, like Man U, Citeh, Chavs, etc.

If we keep thinking 1st team and backups we will not progress as we should.
