Interested to see where he plays at Orient.

Striker, second striker, attacking mid, or... somewhere new and exciting.

Could simply be a case of our reputation being slightly damaged. Our youth have been struggling for years prior to this generation and haven't done that well out on loans while Pool and City players have.

Think that will change for the better as our youth setup looks far superior throughout the levels compared to before.
Skipp is the only one that got a decent loan. We may not have had loads of top quality youth coming through, but I'm sure our top youth for the past 5 years could hold their own in the Championship.

I don't disagree with you on this, but even with that being the case it's still a fact that our youth (and a few seniors even) were generally performing poorly on loan. People, even high-level professionals, often look only at results without diving any deeper than that.

Pool, City, Arsenal & Chelsea are renowned for their academies and we aren't, even if our youth performed well last season. Don't forget our U-21s would have been relegated from the top youth division the year prior if not for the change in format.

I wouldn't be surprised if our academy would need to perform at a high level for a few more years before we can see a true shift in perception from the outside.

Came here to say the same thing. It's definitely a strength of his, but will be interesting because I wonder how it plays into choosing where to loan him.

Don't mind the league/club, all that matters to me is that he features regularly. Devine had two good loan spells last season and it looks like he's coming into his own, maybe a loan away from being PL ready himself. Hoping to see the same for Jamie this season!

A loan for Donley makes total sense to me. A little less enthusiastic about us loaning Alfie Devine, however I think the Solanke transfer has indirectly impacted that as Kulusevski will get more minutes in a deeper role.

Yeah I agree. Only caveat, for me is that an attacking player like Donley should look to get a loan at a team challenging for promotion so he gets plenty of practice playing attacking football.

Phillips and Devine, both at Plymouth last season, Phillips might have got more out of the loan than Devine as Plymouth were in a relegation battle.

I wouldn’t be mad at Devine sticking around for the first half of the season, hopefully get some minutes.

I think Donley’s hair cut is a tad more stylish than Moore’s, although both could do with better haircut advice tbh (I’m just being a bitch as don’t have enough hair to play with on top anymore nowadays).

I’d rather have kept Jamie to give depth at AM assuming we’re not signing any competitor to Maddison. Lovely balance, awareness and sweet left peg.

Kulu certainly ain’t the answer there.

Good luck Jamie, come back stronger

It's a good loan as he demonstrated last year against teams like Colchester, Cambridge and Peterborough he could compete at that level (scored a couple and assisted a couple) so should get a starting berth.

They played some nice football at times last year. Hopefully Donley joining makes them promotion candidates.

Henry V seems to be the tonsorial role model with our U21s, and to be fair last season when the going got tough it was very much once more into the breach…
