This really is a big concern for us if true.

France goalkeeper and captain Hugo Lloris is a doubt for his country's friendly at home to Portugal on Saturday because of a groin problem which forced him to miss training.

The Tottenham Hotspur 'keeper had already worked apart from the rest of his international colleagues on Tuesday and his absence from Wednesday's behind-closed-doors session casts further doubt over his chances of featuring against Portugal.

If he does miss out, Marseille's Steve Mandanda, who missed the World Cup due to injury, will replace him and win his 17th cap.

Fingers crossed, it's not a serious groin injury.

He best not be getting any ideas from Walker... As much as I'd like to see what Vorm can do, realistically we would not have won/drawn our last couple of games without Hugo in the net.

Even if he is out for a couple of weeks (he's made a season's worth of saves already, he deserves a rest!) then we potentially have the best back-up in the league bar Cech.

I saw that as well. We probably don't want them to risk him. It says he's worked apart so that suggests he can train but not that strenuously. I doubt it's that serious.

Did this last game against Southampton, could see him touching his hamstring and letting Kaboul know and thing was in first half. Reckon will be ok or at least hope so

I wouldn't freak out just yet. Club doctors ask international sides to consider refrain from play if for sake of friendlies all the time if dealing with even the slightest of concerns.

Please don't risk him. Man City away with no Hugo will be even harder to watch.

I saw that too, he'll probably be out for a few weeks at most I would guess. We should be fine with Vorm anyway.

France has already qualified for the upcoming Euros (as hosts), and Deschamps' called in squad for this latest round of friendlies reflects almost an experimental or exploratory approach to a look at the squad. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's kept out of both friendlies, but is between the sticks for us against City. These games are simply very low priority for France, and there is just no purpose whatsoever in aggravating any slight injury to such a player, for either party (both France and Spurs), for such low stakes.

I think the fact he's still even doing some training rather lends all the more credence to the suggestion that they're just being cautious, and it isn't really cause for genuine concern. Hell, you may remember players were held entirely out of training sessions all the time this past summer and yet featured in following games.

He kept holding his groin during the Soton game so this doesn't come as tooo much of a surprise, as much as it sucks, we could do a lot worse then Vorm in goal.

Still another week before City. He may yet make it if he isn't risked.

Lloris will be fine for our next domestic game. I know this for sure because Brett told us that we 100% didn't need to sign Vorm this summer. So there you go, factual proof. QED.

Well I'm not sure it's a "BIG" concern for us. It is certainly A concern. It all depends on our defense. Hopefully you're not forgetting that we do have a solid number 2 in Vorm. I'll say it doesn't help matters that Poch has chosen to totally isolate him from all of our comp squads apart from one pathetic cup match and therefore he's not the best prepared to step in between the sicks against City and other teams after that. However, if our defense would just step it up a bit and try to prevent those incredibly inviting goal scoring opportunties which it has been, the ones Lloris has been saving us from, then I'm convinced Vorm can fill the goal well. Of course that's easier said than done. If they continue to let us down, then Vorm will have a big challenge ahead of him. But lets see how it goes.

So Lloris not starting for the friendly international against Portugal can only mean that injury is confirmed. Fingers crossed not a serious one.

Surprised more keepers don't do groin as they rarely have to kick the ball but when they do they hoof it full power. Must put a lot of stress on the groin.
