I've often wondered how much casual tapping up goes on and I'm pretty confident that our players are seen as good targets due to the wages situation we operate under. Wouldn't surprise me at all if all of those who were looking at the exit had their heads turned by promises to or via their agent of the potential contracts that might be available if they were in the market, etc.

It's not just us it happens to but we're surely a bit of an easy target considering the enormous wages other clubs operate around. All it would take is one agent pointing out the obvious to another and, after some mental mathematics on how much they could be looking at earning themselves, it's not a big effort on their part to happen to mention that conversation to their client.

Shady business.

Spot the difference.

Headline: "Lloris admits he wasn't prepared for the number of players who wanted to leave Spurs".

Quotation: "I don’t know if I was [prepared], but you have to deal with it because it happens everywhere".

Just the same old journo-bullshit. Even when written by SC members. The same old manipulative shit-stirring.

I’m intrigued to know what head line you might have written for this piece David?
