Honestly rather him than some Barbosa.
We definitley should look at player types like Nando. Tall, good in the air, link up with Sonny and Lucas, thats what we need upfront.

On the other hand I think his legs are gone and there must be someone younger with similar attributes.

Not mobile enough. For fuck's sake, is this really the best one of the richest clubs in the world can do?

The only time we used Llorente properly was in the CL semi final v Ajax. We lumped balls up to him in true Mourinho style, and he took the piss out of deLigt and Blind. He may be old and slow but he suits this type of football and is all about knock downs and flick ons rather than hold up play.

I see Benteke's name has now been thrown in the ring. A total of 4 goals in his last 65 games. Shoot me now!

So, let me get this right....

It's acknowledged that we really need/want Champions League qualification to maintain our revenue, provide finances for summer transfer activity and assist in finding a premium naming rights deal for the stadium...

We're 9 points behind 4th place and our only experienced striker (and best player) is out until mid-April at the earliest....

And the answer to our problems is Fernando Llorente?!?!

IF there is any truth to this, then it is a damning indictment of the ambition of Levy and ENIC for on-the-pitch success. IF true, then it's a real cause for concern and it signals the sort of small-minded approach that will dominate in the summer. Loan deals, bidding (relative) pittance for unproven players from lower-league clubs, etc. The narrative is already changing.

I very much hope there is nothing to this.
