Don't think they have actually played against our full strength squad at all this season though to bring a bit of perspective. We played them in December in the league and then again in Jan and early Feb in the league Cup when we were at the height of our injury crisis. And then today when Ange rested 6 players ahead of Thursday night. Like, we rested 3 of our first choice back 4 and started 2 teenagers in midfield today ffs. I'm not even sure that either Romero or big Mickey have played a minute against them his season. Probably wouldn't have made much of a difference but I doubt they score 15 goals.
Sky said 4 different keepers have played fir us against them this season

Not many keepers are with the way we play and the confidence of the team to play it.
Which is why we needed to buy a proper fucking goalkeeper. But Levy took the cheap option yet again and here we are.

Levy deserves a lot of blame no doubt but even on football manager at home he's not setting our squad up like this or to play like this!

I get that the result didn’t really bother the club, but did Ange ever consider to sit in, be compact, make it hard to break down. It’s an easier tactic than being open and exerts less energy.

Or he could just set us up the exact same way away from home in the league and just fiddle with the names on the team sheet.
I was surprised we didn’t set up like we did away at Frankfurt. It worked well that night but seems to be just a one off. We never do well at Anfield but I’d likes to have taken a more defensive attitude to the game and make them have to work harder to get over the title line. The second goal summed us up, both in this game and over the season. If you’re under pressure in and around the box just clear your lines or put the ball out. All this needless fannying about in our final third does my head in.

The right decision was backing Poch when the time was right. Every decision the club made since they decided not to back him has been the wrong one.
I don’t disagree with the majority of what you say but I still believe that regardless of how enjoyable it was under Poch I don’t think we’d win anything under him. He lacks that winner’s mentality.

To be honest i feel lower.
we’ve spent billions to have the best facilities &
we’ve been lied to about how the stadium would get us to the promised land.
6 years ago we were CL finalists and regular top 4 finishers

now 17th!!

scandalous doesn’t sum it up.
The irony is that over those 6 years we have the 3rd highest net spend. Unfortunately because we do not have real football people in charge of the football side of things there is no overall plan or strategy around who and why we’re buying the players we do. I can’t remember the last time we went into a season where we did not have glaring holes in the makeup of the the team. We are always one or two players short, in important positions, to really challenge for anything.

I think we have a plan in place, young players - I don't look at the state of the club and squad with dread like it would if I was a United fan where this is absolutely no plan in place, you can see what we are trying to achieve

I agree we are short, but it's not as bad as we've seen this season.

Just hope this season hasn't set back our recruitment

As soon as we scored,I knew that was it. We gave them something to play for. Got the crowd up.
Even Ben Davies is getting worse , usually reliable. I doubt we will win another league game. Just chucked it in. If we don’t get 3 up on Thursday I fear for us.

And the other irony is that if we did have football heads operating the football side of the club, then we’d accrue even more money through greater on field success. One thing I can’t fault levy with is running a successful profit making business for Enic …

Did you have problems getting in the ground? It was mental getting in the Park Lane. I got swept past the turnstiles for the terraces when the masses behind me surged forward fearing they wouldn’t get in. I eventually fought my way through the crowd to the turnstiles for the Upper Stand and then persuaded a steward to let me into the terraces below. If the goal hadn’t had a net in it Kennedy’s winning goal would have hit me in the head😅. There must have been thousands locked out that night!
