I'm just sick of former Spurs players slagging us off. You kind of expect it with nothings like Stephen Kelly and Jamie O'Hara but Dawson should know better. I am hugely disappointed with him and he has no excuses. It's not like he was discussing the game with the intellectual elite. Carragher, and especially Redknapp, know absolutely nothing.

Ultimately there is nothing anyone can say to excuse us last night. It is gutting but the performance and result says it all. Dawson is as one of us as can be.

They are paid for their opinion, not to be nice to a team who are fucking shit.

It's only 2 games a week. I heard Kulusevski saying 3 games a week too. I don't know where that comes from but I wonder if the players thinking 3 a week psychologically impacts them. We play the same number as half a dozen others including our opponent last night.

This. If it was any other business with staff off sick you cope, until things get better (e.g COVID). You don't go out and replace all the staff with whoever, you struggle through until you're back to full strength again. Things pick up. Your customers understand, maybe not always happy, but generally stick with you. "It's a funny old game."
Didn't know these kinds of customers exist? They're fuming 24/7 at shit out of our control. They don't understand and don't accept any of it. Much like people on here they don't except x, y or z and actual reason and are labelled "excuses".

it’s more basic than that, we missed players with heart and an ability to battle and dig in. Maddison is the biggest culprit of going missing when the going gets tough. Always gives a great post match apology presser though
Think this is our biggest problem...we don't have many warriors..lots of technical ability... but the successful teams always have those battle hard tenacious type players... who work really hard... we don't have that

Liverpool are the best team in Europe right now and at full strength. They blew us away because we couldn't live with their press and relentless attack - and then they had mega players to come on and continue all of that. We're a living mixed metaphor - down to the bare bones and on our last legs. If you can't see that then you've never actually watched a match for the football. I predicted 3 or 4 to Liverpool because that's the difference at this moment in time. A full strength rotated Spurs side would give them a match over two legs whether that suits the narrative of some of the miserable gits on here or not.
Think most on here agree that Liverpool was always going to be tall order....the issue is that we seemed beat before we even began... failed to at least give it a go

it’s so hypercritical it’s unreal. You’d think all these ex pros never gave anything less than a 1000% in their career or never had a bad game in their lives. The likes of Redknapp, O’Hara and Kelly “bottled” plenty of things in their time with us I can assure you.

What I noticed is that we didn't give away many fouls. Whilst not ideal at least the players are giving it a go and trying to unsettle the opposition. Possibly could be due to not wanting to get injured

What perplexes me is, why is it that we have an injury crisis which is popularly explained as happening because our tactics dictate that we run further & sprint more than the opposition, but on Thurs (&not for the first time this season) we were well & truly outrun/outsprinted/outfought by a team that had hardly any injuries?
How do they do it?

Because of quite a few things;

Their manager is a better manager, he uses their squad much better and rotates in key positions

Their squad is deep, and full of quality. They have been rebuilding for the last 18 months before Slot arrived

We made it easy for them to out fight us, out run us and out sprint us because we weren't up for it. We were beaten before we even kicked off.

We play the same chaos football all the time, even when we are playing rubbish it's still chaos. And we were still wide open at times even in a low block on Thursday night

So what are we doing so different to those other teams to have so many injuries? We need to stop using this excuse and work out the reason why we have those injuries.

Can you imagine that gets done to a Liverpool striker? It would be all over sky news, twitter and the press and there'd be a petition up to present to Parliament.
And then imagine it was Romero who did it - to a Liverpool player?

Red card (no VAR needed), a minimum 5 match ban + obligatory courses and mental training to understand and reduce violent behaviour ...
